My son has decided, after teaching for 2 years in public schools, that he needs to get his masters. Seems like he has gone to school all his life. I really think he will end up teaching in college, where the kids want to learn and play music. He loves to teach small children how to play the violin and its so cute to see them play at that age. How wonderful it must be to be able to teach someone to play an instrument.

I did this layout in his honor because I know he will get his masters and that will be just one more step up in his life.

Blog Prompt: Tell about something that made you feel good this week.

This isn’t going to be the typical answer, but since its just us girls here I can really express how good I feel today!!

I am slowly going through the beginnings of menopause right now and I never know when my period is going to come. And I am sure some of you guys can relate to this. For the past 3 weeks, my hips hurt, I felt like a Weeble Wobble walking around because of the bloating, my bra couldn’t hold what God gave me and I was wearing my Super Duper Those Things Aren’t Moving Bra , I was upset at anything and everything and almost decked a guy in his golf cart yesterday when he told me I couldn’t walk my dog in the street next to the curb, I was eating everything in site (good thing I didn’t have a car to go to the store) and the headache felt like daggers sticking out of my head. Oh, this was I believe the worse I have ever felt in all my months of woman hood, untillllllllllllll LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I woke up and there it was, the thing I hate most about being a woman, but I was never so happy to see it in my life!!!!!!!!!!

*sigh* I can now enjoy life again

I read that you should use all that energy that is building up to do something productive. Evidently all those articles were wrote by MEN!!

*sigh* I feel better now.

Blog Prompt: List the 5 things that annoy you the most. If you are like me, this can change from day to day, but tell me the recent annoyances that have just gotten on your nerves.

1. Calling a business, pushing I don’t know how many buttons, going from one department to another and finally getting where you need to be and then I can’t understand what anyone is saying. Sorry if I offend anyone on that one.
2. Standing in line – I am tolerating this better
3. People behind me who honk to tell me to go just when the light turns green. So, I sit there longer on purpose.
4. Go through the drive thru and they mess up the order every time!! – So now I check the order before I leave. Just for the record, this has NEVER happened at Chick-fil-la
5. RUDE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! – I had a guy stop on his golf cart today and tell me I couldn’t walk in the street, near the curb mind you, with my dog. Well, being the polite Southern girl that I am I told him what I thought about that.
6. Security at the airport – The average person goes through *whispering* hell to just take a plane ride!!!!!!!
7. False advertisement – no explanation needed
8. Parents that don’t control their children in public
9. People that talk during a movie
10.Poor service at a restaurant
11.Boys wearing their britches so far down, you think they are going to fall off!!
12.and the most annoying of all – People that don’t do what they say they will do. Our business relies on contracting work out and it seems everyday we have to search for someone else to do the job. When stuff like that starts diggin in my pocket, then poop hits the fan.

OK, I have to stop

Again, I apologize if I offended anyone with my statements, but then again Political Correctness is another one of my annoyances.

Blog Prompt: What is most important to you in a friend–loyalty, generosity, honesty–why?

I have had many friends over my years on this world, but my dearest friend is all of the above and more. I guess over the years I have looked for friends that don’t bring me down to a level that is not true to my heart and that their loyalty to me and my loyalty to them be a very important part of our friendship and she is all that. The saying, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” My friend better hold her tongue till her last day on this earth!! We can say what needs to be said to each other and listen when its time to listen. Laughter is also very important to us and this is a quality that never stops. If she needs help I am there and same goes for me.

When it came time for me to leave our home town and move to Georgia to marry, I wasn’t worried about telling my parents I was leaving, I was worried about telling my friends. Especially my dearest friend. That was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life!!

Blog Prompt: What do you think is the most foolish thing you’ve done in your life?

Like everyone else, I have had some foolish moments, but I guess the one that makes me think the hardest is this one.

When I was in High School, a friend and I were in my VW driving down the highway at night, when my tire went flat. Well, whats a couple of girls to do. We stood on the side of the road and along came a man that offered us a ride home. We got into his back seat and he took us right to my front door!

Of course, this was back in the 70′s and I did live in a very small farming community, but we didn’t know that man at all. We didn’t give a second thought about what we had done either. I am very thankful that we are both still here today.

Blog Prompt: Where would you prefer to be right now–mountains, desert, beach–and why?

THE BEACH!!!!! I love the beach, the sand, watching the water and just relaxing. Sitting under a big umbrella, with a diet soda and a good book. I do like to get a bit of sun, and I mean just a bit. I love to snorkel and the beach is a great place to do it.
