Fashion Personality

Let’s see what kind of fashion personality you have

Fashion personality? Well, lets see. Jeans, penny loafers, oxford cloth shirt, khaki pants. My fashion hasn’t changed for many years. I hate to buy something and the next day is out of fashion. So, I buy the everyday staples in clothing and they are still in fashion.

!. Cashmere sweaters – they go with everything!!
2. Black skirt and pants – everyday wear and well, you never know when you are going to a funeral.
3. Little Black dress – need I say more
4. Jeans – go out and spend a bit of money on a pair of good fitting jeans. And girls, please keep them above the cheek area in the back!!
5. Nice tshirts – I have found out that if I buy a good tshirt in different colors, they will go with everything that I wear all year long. I buy mine and Lands End and LL Bean in short and long sleeve. They wash and wear for years and never go out of style.
6. Khaki pants and shorts – again, goes with everything and have great solid colors besides khaki.
7. Capri’s – after living here in Florida for a bit, I find them great for all year round. I have to admit that I do have some Capri’s in patterns.
8. Penny Loafers – yes, I love them and will always have a pair of them. I am NOT a heal girl.
9. Tennis shoes – I will spend good money on a pair of good walking shoes. I wear them almost everyday.
10. Lounging around the house clothes – a must and can find them at Walmart.
11. Purse – I hate purses and I hate caring them! I have one for summer and one for winter.
12. Oxford cloth shirts – I have to admit, I have alot of these shirts. Once again, they go with my khakis and jeans and they have been around for years. I will pay a bit more for them from Lands End and LL Bean.

That is my basic fashion sense. A little boring, but it works for me.

And always remember, NEVER wear white before Easter and after Labor Day!!

Rushed…..Stressed??

You have an important meeting this morning. Are you running around rushed and stressed or are you prepared?

Retired, sitting in my pjs and drinking coffee. Nope, no strees or being rushed here. :)

Beauty Secrets

Beauty Secrets. What beauty secrets do you use (no matter how unusual)?

My #1 secret is not to let my face in the sun. I have been wearing a hat in the sun since my 20′s and I think it shows now that I am 50. This is a hard task here in Florida, but sunscreen helps alot. I also use Retin A and I think that keeps all the dead skin off of my face and I use a loofah pad a lot to keep my skin smooth. I also use a lot of moisturizer, especially when the weather gets really dry.

I wish I had a secret for sagging skin though, but I know that comes with age and I can’t do anything about that except get a face lift! I am saving my money to get laser surgery on my eyes so I can SEE like a normal person.

No big secrets here, just taking care of the only skin I have and keeping it out of the sun.

In a rut?

Self-motivation. Ever get in a rut and didn’t feel like you would ever get out? What did you do to pull yourself up and out?

Right now our real estate business is in a big rut and we both have been whining about this problem now for a few months. Well, what could we do?

We decided to make a few major business decisions, sell a few rental properties, watch every penny going out and just think positive. That seems to work best for us.

Always think positive.

Thinking positive that a buyer would come along has sold a couple of homes for us in the past.

Attention to Detail

Attention to Detail. When people come to your home what is the first thing you want them to see and why?

I guess that would be my collections and country stuff that I have through out my home. My husband and I have collected some corny redneck country items through out the years and we love them. Heck, I have my husbands pot he used as a potty when he was a young child in my kitchen above my kitchen cabinets.

And of course, I am always ready to talk about my Dan Marino collection that is very extensive and I am very proud of.

Fashion Facts

Fashion Facts. Over the centuries, fashions have taken dramatic changes. Do you know of any obscure fashion facts to add to our knowledge?

Very interesting post, so I had to do some web searching for a fashion fact.

False eyelashes were invented for Hollywood producer D.W. Griffith who wanted to enhance Seena Owen’s eyes for a 1916 film. The eyelashes were made out of real human hair.

Less than 40 percent of all clothing is sold at full price. Some stores mark up so they can mark down.

When Wal-Mart, Target and others got into the fashion game, it changed the way people shop. Wal-Mart sells more than $30 billion in apparel a year — more than all department stores combined.

This fact I knew from way back. The reason why brides carry a bouquet is because many centuries ago, people only took baths about once a year. So the bride wanted to be at her best, so she carried flowers to hide the scent of her body.

Shoes

Shoes make the woman. Give us an insight into your closet. Your shoes closet that is.

Since I live in Florida, shoes are a priority. Don’t need them that often and flip flops are my constant style. I am slowly collecting fancy, sparkly and colorful flip flops to wear.

I live in my croc flip flops now and they sure are comfy. Its been so long since I have worn “real” shoes I am sure they would hurt my feet. So, I must keep my toes pretty and red and in tip top condition, since they are showing all the time.

When my husband and I were long distant dating on the phone, we were talking about shoes one night. He told me, I bet if you went into your closet right now and counted how many shoes you had it would be really close to your age. I thought he was nuts, but I took the challenge, counted the shoes and lost the bet. I had a couple shoes more than my age!!

So I challenge all you ladies out there and see if you have as many shoes as your age and let me know.

The only other pair of shoes that I have worn a lot were a pair of penny loafers that my son had when he was very young. I have little feet. Anyway, I was cleaning out his closet, found these shoes and realized they hadn’t hardly been worn. I have been wearing them every since. You know, they just don’t make good penny loafers anymore.
