I am thankful for all of God’s creatures. There is a place for every one of them, except maybe some insects. Haven’t figured out their place in this world yet. Maybe just to aggravate the tar out of us. Example, love bugs. But that is a whole new blog story, but you gals from Florida know what I am talking about.
Anyway, I am thankful for all my past and present pets. I just love animals and wish I lived some where to have tons of them.
When my husband and I lived in the country in Georgia, we had goats and I just loved to watch them. They were a funny group. There names were Weedeater, Weed-Be-Gone, Lawnmower, Roundup and Grasshopper. One of the twins had a baby, we called it Taco because it was born on Cinco de Mayo. After he was born, the mother walked off and left it, so we bottle fed him for a few months and for some reason the older goat killed it. We don’t know why, maybe it was natures way. That was sad, because he was like a little puppy. Following us around all the time.

Ottis the Cat
Ottis the cat was such a sweet cat and it took about a year, but he and my dog Mia finally became friends. They would chase each other around the house and end up sittting out on the porch together.
Ottis was a cat that loved to bring us his catch of the day. Sometimes they were still alive and then we would have to catch them ourselves and let them go.
I have had many boxers over the years. Duke, Barkley, Danny, Mia and now we have Ernest T. Bass, the rescued boxer. He has been here with us for 2 years now and we just love to watch him and some of the clever things he can do. He can open dead bolt doors, so when we leave the house, he must go in his kennel. Yesterday, he had on his bandana and didn’t like to wear it that much and now its gone. I am sure he took the thing off and has hid from me. We have searched this house over, but no bandana. He’s a hoot, that’s for sure.
I could go on and on about all the animals I have had in my 50 years, but we would be here all day.
I do have to say, after going to Discover Cover this year and being up close and personal with dolphins, they are a creature that I just can’t speak enough of. Beautiful, strong, graceful, smart and above all friendly.
