Clothes

What clothing are you thankful for?

Since I have gotten older, I am really thankful for elastic waist shorts!!!! YEA!!!! Now a few years ago, I would’ve never been caught in old lady shorts, but now I know why everyone loves them so much. So comfy for sure.

Jeans, capris and tshirts are among some of favs also. Again, comfy to wear. Nothing binding for this body anymore.

Pets

What pets or animals are you thankful for?

I am thankful for all of God’s creatures. There is a place for every one of them, except maybe some insects. Haven’t figured out their place in this world yet. Maybe just to aggravate the tar out of us. Example, love bugs. But that is a whole new blog story, but you gals from Florida know what I am talking about.
Anyway, I am thankful for all my past and present pets. I just love animals and wish I lived some where to have tons of them.
When my husband and I lived in the country in Georgia, we had goats and I just loved to watch them. They were a funny group. There names were Weedeater, Weed-Be-Gone, Lawnmower, Roundup and Grasshopper. One of the twins had a baby, we called it Taco because it was born on Cinco de Mayo. After he was born, the mother walked off and left it, so we bottle fed him for a few months and for some reason the older goat killed it. We don’t know why, maybe it was natures way. That was sad, because he was like a little puppy. Following us around all the time.

Ottis the Cat
Ottis the cat was such a sweet cat and it took about a year, but he and my dog Mia finally became friends. They would chase each other around the house and end up sittting out on the porch together.
Ottis was a cat that loved to bring us his catch of the day. Sometimes they were still alive and then we would have to catch them ourselves and let them go.
I have had many boxers over the years. Duke, Barkley, Danny, Mia and now we have Ernest T. Bass, the rescued boxer. He has been here with us for 2 years now and we just love to watch him and some of the clever things he can do. He can open dead bolt doors, so when we leave the house, he must go in his kennel. Yesterday, he had on his bandana and didn’t like to wear it that much and now its gone. I am sure he took the thing off and has hid from me. We have searched this house over, but no bandana. He’s a hoot, that’s for sure.
I could go on and on about all the animals I have had in my 50 years, but we would be here all day.
I do have to say, after going to Discover Cover this year and being up close and personal with dolphins, they are a creature that I just can’t speak enough of. Beautiful, strong, graceful, smart and above all friendly.

Friends

What friends are you thankful for and why?

I am so thankful for my gal pals in Missouri, where I use to live. When I found out I was getting married and moving to a different state, telling my friends I was leaving was the hardest thing I have ever done.

We still chat everyday online with YM and gossip just as much as ever. I only get to see them once a year and I am hoping someday, they will get to visit me in Florida.

But I guess I would have to say my very best friend is my husband. He is always there for me no matter what. A shoulder to lean on, a voice to calm my soul, a soft touch to wipe away the tears. My rock, my soul, my life, my husband.

Thankful Things

What things are you able to do are you thankful for?

1. Waking up every morning, get out of bed and function pretty well for my age. I hope this is due to all my exercising over the years.

2. Able to chat online with my friends everyday from Missouri. Now that I live in Florida, I am able to keep up with them and how things are back home. I miss them so much, and this is such a comfort for me.

3. Being creative and using my mind, as I do right now. I am hoping that working it hard everyday will keep it healthy. I am a little forgetful, but I think that is normal. For now. Now then, if you ask my husband, he thinks I am losing it. *s*

Transportaion

What modes of transportation are you thankful for?

1. My feet!!! They take me every where I need to go. I must keep them happy with daily messages, lotion to keep them soft and a little red polish to make them flash. Happy Feet

2. My car – I am not the happiest behind the wheel, due to my vision. But, I am always happy in my car because my husband is with me and we are together. He is always Driving Miss Tammy

3. My bike – I will soon be getting myself a brand new bike so that I can ride myself around this beautiful community I live in. It will also be a form of exercise for the crazy dog and I. He loves to run.

I don’t like flying anymore, due to all the security and the seats are sooooooooooo close together. I have been on a train and enjoyed that very much. Would love to do that again.
