I have a little brother who is about 3 years younger than me.  But, when you look at him, he is built like Mr. Atlas and really looks good for his age.  He is one of those people that don’t have to do much to keep the muscle tone nice.  He spent a year in Iraq and I am so proud of him for serving in the military all these years.

He will always be my baby brother and I will always be there for him.  I always had a dream, that we would own a duplex.  He lived on one side and I the other.  You never know.  In our old days to come, we might live in the same nursing home!

I absolutely love pearls and I couldn’t wait to do this post. 

I received a really  beautiful multi-colored string of pearls from Pearl Paradise to demonstrate in a video.  These freshwater pearls are some of the prettiest I have ever seen.  The beauty and color of these pearls are just wonderful. 

Since my birthday is June, the month of pearls, I just couldn’t pass up this opportunity.  I hope you enjoy my little version of movie making.

Still working on Thanksgiving weekend and now I have the food organized, better seating for everyone, I still have a problem with that ugly light in the bathroom.  Half of it works, it looks like something you would have in a dressing room and its time to update my bathroom lighting.  I love the new look of the bronze color for lighting today.  I found some really great items to choose from at Light Outlet.  Great prices, great items and the best names out there when it comes to lighting fixtures.

Now that I have got everything ready for Thanksgiving with the food, my next problem is, “Do I have enough seating?”  I have a wonderful bar area in my kitchen and I think its time to buy some nice bar stools from Home Decorations.  I get their catalog all the time and just love their furniture and accessories. 

Since my kitchen is all about roosters, Home Decorations has a great bar stool just for that!  This is perfect for my kitchen, will give me 2 more seating’s and enough room for everyone coming for Thanksgiving.

I can’t wait for everyone to see my new rooster bar stools.

I can’t believe its almost Thanksgiving and I am so ready for that great meal that my mom will cook.  I am suppose to bring something and trying to figure out something interesting is always a struggle for me. 

This year I think I will get my Thanksgiving recipes from MyRecipes.com and fix something spectacular.  They even have great recipes for cooking turkeys and for those of you that love to find whole menus, this is the place to go.

 I’ve had quite a few cars in my life and I wish I had never had that many cars.  What a waste of money buying a brand new car. 

As I grew older, I realized it was better for me to own a used car and to have it for many years.  Cars now a days seem to last much longer and knock on wood, I haven’t had major problems with any of my cars except for my very first car, the VW Karmann Ghia.  It literary rusted apart and then I went on to my next car the 2 door Skylark.  It was pretty and made just for me.  I then went on to a station wagon, which didn’t last very long at all.  The Jeep was just coming out when I purchased it.  No carpeting, no radio, nothing was in that vehicle.  But it did well for me in the winters and I had it for quite a while. 

I then went on to my first foreign car the Nissan Altima which I loved alot.  It was a stick and I truly enjoyed driving it.  When my son left for college, we traded in for the Nissan Maxima, which was bigger for all our weekly trips to his college for visits and ballgames.  My son and husband were not comfy in my Altima.  It was too small for over 6 foot tall men.  I kept that Maxima for 10 years and traded it off on a used Honda CRV which we still have today and its almost at 100,000 miles.  Great vehicle and gets great gas mileage.  My poor Maxima was in pretty bad shape when we traded it in.  The word “Maxima” was on the back of the car and after 10 years all it said was “Maxi”.  Something I was proud to drive around with on the back of my car.  I think it had almost 125,000 miles on it.

I don’t know if I would ever buy a new car again.  My fun side of me wants a convertable VW bug and my sensible side says a Volvo, one of the safest cars on the road today.

Your friendships and what they mean to you

I have had many friends over my years on this world, but my dearest friend is a friend everyone needs to have. I guess over the years I have looked for friends that don’t bring me down to a level that is not true to my heart and that their loyalty to me and my loyalty to them be a very important part of our friendship and she is all that. The saying, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” My friends better hold her tongue till their last day on this earth!! We can say what needs to be said to each other and listen when its time to listen. Laughter is also very important to us and this is a quality that never stops. If she needs help I am there and same goes for me.

When it came time for me to leave our home town and move to Georgia to marry, I wasn’t worried about telling my parents I was leaving, I was worried about telling my friends. Especially my dearest friend, Miss K. That was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life!!
