Blog Prompt – What are you thankful for?

My family.  My husband, my son, my mom, brother and his family and the small extended family that we have left.  I can’t imagine not having any family for the holidays and thank goodness there are people out there that open their homes to friends or strangers that don’t have anyone.  I consider my friends as family.  Heck, some of them I have known longer than some of my family.

This year for Thanksgiving will be really nice because there will be a rather large gathering at my mom’s house in Florida.  It would’ve just been my husband, me and my mom, but my mom’s sister, husband and their extended family is coming this year.  YEA!!  There will be a couple of little one’s around and we also found out my cousin is expecting again. 

It will be said again this year because its been a year now since my father has passed and Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday.  The man loved to eat.  But then again, he loved seeing all his family around.  And that was very important to him.  I know he will be with us in spirit.

I hope all my blogger friends have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, enjoy your time with your family and remember those who are fighting for this country and having their holiday overseas.

Since I have hit the big Five O and more, I have noticed how my weight has just climbed and climbed.  Even though I work out hard 4 times a week and watch what I eat, I have put on at least 20 pounds. 

I am to the point now of maybe using some kind of diet aide to help me lose some of these pounds.  I have done some research and found alli diet pills might be my answer. There is alot to read up on and understand before I make my decision on how to loose this weight.

Blog Prompt – What is your favorite Thanksgiving dinner item?

I have to pick!!!!!!  I love my mom’s green been casserole and sweet potato casserole.  I always bring Garlic Cheese Baked Grits and that’s one of my favs too.  I guess the only thing I don’t like is that nasty green, marshmallow jello salad thing that is always staring at me when I fill my plate.  yuk!!

Desserts are always good too.  My fav is Italian Cream Coconut Cake without coconut.  If my mom puts that stuff in the cake, I won’t eat it.  I just can’t take the texture of coconut in my mouth.  It’s like eating paper.  There is always pumpkin and pecan pie for 2nd choices.

I would love to hear what everyone loves to eat on Thanksgiving.

Blog Prompt – Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?

I love traditions and we always have dinner at my mom’s.  She loves to cook, so we let her have a ball.  When she is in there, sparks fly from the pans there is so much going on in there. 

My mother’s sister, her husband, their daughter and her family and other friends will be joining us this year.  I love having bunches of people around for Thanksgiving.  That’s what its all about to me.

Our other tradition is to put up the Christmas tree while watching the Georgia and Georgia Tech football game on Saturday.  Now mind you, my husband isn’t helping me do this part.  He does help take everything down from the attic.  That is a tradition he wished stopped!!!

My husband and I hardly watch tv live anymore and fast forward through commercials all the time.  The other day we were watching football in real time and sighing through the commercials when this one came on with Ozzy Osborne.  We both laughed so hard and I just had to share it with everyone else.  I hope you enjoy.  PS…..If you don’t know anything about Ozzy Osborne, you really won’t get this commercial.

I love wearing my roper boots with my jeans.  Very comfy and they last forever.  But, now my boots are getting old and I am needing to replace them quickly.  I found a great place called Cavenders online and what a line of cowboy hats, boots and clothing they have for everyone in the family!

We have had a home theater system for over 8 years now and we love all that great sound quality, especially now that we have a HD tv.  When its time to purchase a new home theater system, I will be looking at buy.com.  It’s where I bought my ipod and I couldn’t ask for a better price and service from an online store.

I love, love, LOVE my ipod Shuffle!  I’ve had it now for a few months and just love the quality, ease of use and the amount of songs that it will hold.  I use it while I work in the yard, go for my walks and while I travel.  I had used another mp3 player for years and when it stopped playing for me, I switched over to the Shuffle.  I had no idea the sound quality could be so good from something not much bigger that a match box.  Oh, and the price isn’t that bad either. 

I found my ipods at buy.com.  They have great service, great prices and weekly specials.  These make great gifts for any one.
