Since we live outdoors so much here in Florida, we need lighting to help us at the BBQ and especially when I take the dog out after dark.
Outdoor led lighting is the perfect solution for me. I can place them around our patio and since they are solar powered, I will have enough light to see after dark.
I also love the idea of having LED Christmas lights. They hardly use any wattage and will save me money in the long run.
Blog Prompt – How do you feel about celebrating your birthday?
I hate it!! I know its just a number, but when the number hits those dreaded century birthdays and then when you hit the half century mark, oh my goodness!! I am over a half century old.
My brain tells me I am much younger, but my body is telling me different. I surely can’t do what I use to. But, I still try.
The most important birthdays are 16 and 21, for obvious reasons. But then 30, 40 and then 50 came along. If my birthday gives me a reason to be with friends and family to enjoy a good meal and birthday cake, then its worth it. Oh yea, lets not forget birthday cake. To me, thats some of the best cake ever.
The birthday everyone looks forward to here where I live is 62. Yup, you celebrate the idea you made it to that age and you get the wonderful check from the government you have worked so hard all your life for. I still have a few years, but my husband will get his next year!! Yea, a little more money coming into this house. One can always use a little more.
I hope everyone having a birthday today, tomorrow and in the future, to have a good one!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

As many of you already know, I live in Florida, so a great deal of our time is spent outside. I love sitting on my lanai and watching my butterfly garden and the birds at their feeders. The only problem I have sitting out there is that we have the most uncomfortable furniture ever!!
I think I have found the right outdoor furniture for the lanai that will be durable, very comfortable and nice on the eyes. There are all types of products to choose from such as seating, dining, bars and storage boxes. They also have great cushions to match my decor. I just love the outdoor wicker patio furniture available now. And I must have one of those great Fire Pits for those chilly Florida nights on the patio.
I am also looking for new bedroom furniture for our guest room and I am wanting a new bathroom vanity for the guest bath also. I just hate when guests come and they aren’t comfortable. There is such a great selection of bathroom vanity sets to choose from, I don’t know where to begin. I love the one in the picture to the left. That will go perfect with the white bedroom furniture I picked out too.

The dadgum garage still!! Its getting there though.
My husband just brought a car load of stuff from a rental home we sold and where do you put it? There are things lined up all around the car. Just enough room to pull the car in. I try to put something up everything I go out there and especially try and throw away something. There’s no need to keep a person’s garage looking like …..well……A GARAGE!!
Now on to happier things.

I spend way too much time online. But I have a good excuse. hehehe
I have an online business that I have to keep up, I have to keep up with my digi scrapbooking friends and I keep up with family and friends. Those are great reasons. Visiting and working. You can do it all.
It takes half a day just to read all the junk…….I mean…..wonderful email I get everyday! All the videos and picture emails and on and on.
Then I have to check the bank account, check the stock market (why, I don’t know these days), check on my beloved Miami Dolphins (its time to pick out new players for this season) and work on my blog. I also check up on the news and google anything I need to read or learn about. Google is my new best friend. I always check out ebay for clothes. All that takes another few hours.
I do any work I need to do on my website. I use the internet to print out all my postage, so I don’t have to get in the car and drive forever to the post office. I love that feature.
One of the main reasons I stay on the internet so much is to read. Getting older and not keeping my brain active is not a good thing. I can go online and play puzzles and some thinking games. I love the challenges. My husband and I use to play scrabble all the time with each other online before we married and I lived in Missouri and he lived in Georgia. It was slow, because we both had dial up.
I love the internet and I love the advantages about it. I hope you love it too.

All this month, TCM has been running nothing but Oscar nominated movies. I love this every year and try to find a new movie I haven’t seen or watch an oldie but a goodie. This year I recorded Citizen’s Kane and Casablanca. I have only seen bits and pieces of Casablanca and none Citizen’s Kane.
I have a gadget in the right column that shows what movies are showing during the day on TCM this month.
My top 10 favorite movies are:
1. Gone with the Wind (Rhett Butler, just the name makes me swoon)

We finally finished our taxes this weekend and I sent them efile. I’ve never used that for myself personally, but have heard other people say their refunds came quickly. We will see! The do charge about $20.00 to efile state taxes using Turbo Tax.
I don’t know if any of you use Turbo Tax, but we have been using it for years and I love it. It’s so easy to use and even though our Federal return is over 40 pages long, its still much cheaper than an accountant.
I hope someday congress will pass a much simpler form of doing taxes or getting rid of it all together. I am an advocate for the Fair Tax system and feel that its the fairest way for Americans to keep their full payroll check and just pay a bit higher on purchases. You also receive a prebate for the neccessaties of life every month. More money in your pocket and you don’t ever have to worry about the IRS again. Please read up on it and contact your representative and senator to support H.R. 25 which is already on the floor in congress. We need more supporters for this bill.
