Sweet Dreams
Blog Prompt – Dream: A series of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. Do you dream a lot? Do you remember them when you awake? Do they leave you feeling refreshed and happy or drained? Do they have any effect on you during the day, whether you remember the contents or not?
I dream a lot and remember my dreams when I wake up in the morning. I have to say 99.99% of my dreams are good and not violent or night marish. I’ve noticed, if I read something or see something on TV, I sometimes dream about that person. And I have also noticed that when I am about a week before my period, my dreams are really wild!! I’m sure hormones has something to do with that. So, I would say that my dreams don’t bother me in any way. Well, I might get a laugh or two from them.
Now my husband is another story and I am writing this for further use and you will see what I mean after this post.
He acts out his dreams a lot. Especially if he has had a very stressful day and is extreemly tired. He told me when we were dating that when he had to spend the night at the fire station, the men would come and wake him up because he was yelling. He said his dreams were usually about a dog chasing him. Stuff that happend on a fire call.
After we were married, the first time he acted out one of his dreams, I was really scared. It was in the middle of the night and I was awoke to him kicking my legs. His arms and legs were just flying all over the place and it took me a few seconds to wake him. When he finally woke up, he told me that a dog was attacking him and he was kicking him off.
After a couple more times of that happening, I realized that he jerks right before the incident happens and I can prepare myself. I have caught his fist in mid air coming toward me before. He told me that dream was some guy had made him mad and he was about to hit him.
I have to say, since he isn’t working anymore, he doesn’t have the night mares as much, but the moment I feel his body jerk, I get in my defense mode and get prepared for either legs or arms flying.
Now, the reason I am making this public and on the record, is the day I come up with a broken arm or black eye in the middle of the night, I will have this as evidence. hehehe
Oh, and of course, Ernest the dog has his dog dreams too. He looks like he is running while he has his and his are daily. He can really make some noise for sure. And he has never told me that his dreams bother him, so I guess he is ok.
Sweet dreams everyone,
