I love to get my hands dirty and play in the dirt and when it comes to organic gardening, I am all for it. But, since I have such a small area behind my house, I only have room for my Butterfly Garden, which is full of beautiful flowers right now.

I don’t want to use any kind of chemicals on that garden because I want the caterpillars to live and I don’t want my butterflies and hummingbirds to die from eating that.  Also, the idea of all the chemicals seeping in the ground and making its way to the holding ponds is not good for the fowl that visit there all the time.

I love the products that Saferbrand.com has to offer and I have been practicing organic gardening for some time now.

The killing soap, pictured left, is a great product for all your plants.  Soapy water will cause bugs to die naturally and keep your flowers and veggies healthy without all the chemicals.  I have a spray bottle full of this stuff ready to carry around with me once a week to look for bugs.    They also offer a great fungicide which we use a lot here in Florida.

Blog Prompt – “Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws.” ~Plato. Do you find Plato’s statement to be as accurate today as they were nearly 2000 years ago?

Yes, this statement still holds true today.  Even though they say good people sometimes  commit crimes.  Not in my heart or mind do good people ever commit crimes!

And it saddens me more and more to see more people turning to crime as a way of  “helping” them in a crises.  Stealing isn’t a way of helping you out of a situation.

It also saddens me to see that the family core is more and more not teaching our children between right and wrong.  How can anyone live with what only bad brings them?  Where do they learn that only bad things are good?  I can’t imagine having a heart that only feels bad.

When will it stop?

I am so into organic food and the idea of having fresh home grown eggs everyday is so exciting.  I’ve always wanted my own chickens, but wanted an easy way to raise them and be able to have ease in cleaning the area.  Chickens can be a bit messy.

I found the most interesting chicken coop for us. You can either download chicken coop building plans instantly, order an un-assembled chicken coop kit, or purchase an assembled chicken coop.  The Green Roof Chicken Coop has a roof where you can use it as a planting bed.  What a great idea!!  You can harvest your produce and grab a few eggs at the same time.  I also love the ease of how you clean this coop.

Blog Prompt – What’s the worst part about being sick?

For me, is when I run a pretty bad temperature, my eyes hurt so bad.  I don’t know if its because my vision is bad or what, but the pain is worse then being sick.  I have had the flu 2 times, once in 2000 and once in 2002 and both times my eyes were constantly in pain.  My temp was about 102 and until it broke, my eyes hurt.  Mainly behind the eye.  Who knows what that’s all about.  Also, my hair hurts when I have a temp.  Figure that one out.

But, I also can’t deal with the stomach flu eihter.  Throwing up is one of the worse things I have ever had to deal with.  eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww  I can’t talk about it anymore!!!

On to a funny little story.  I walked out to the garage and could hear my husband moaning and groaning and I still couldn’t see him.  He was behing the car.  I rush over to him and he was bent over picking something up.  I am frantic at this point and asked him what was wrong.  He stood up and said laughing, “I had to bend over.”  He ain’t right.

I thought I would post a great video from America’s Got Talent last night.  Great little group and it gave me chills to hear one of America’s greatest songs done by such wonderful children.

The past couple of years haven’t been great for us due to the real estate business. Even though we don’t flip homes anymore, we still have bills from those homes that didn’t get paid when the homes were sold.
