I think the debit card was not accepted when it was first discussed and brought out in the 70’s.  I remember writing a term paper on it back in 1978 and I was so intrigued about the idea.  My teacher didn’t care for the subject though.  But the idea of  not having to write a check and that my purse could be smaller was  a great relief.  I hate carrying a purse.

I’m glad to see that it has been accepted by many in our country since then.  It’s all I use now a days.

I had to add a cute video of a baby dancing to music.  Worth the watch.

Blog Prompt – What is a best friend? Now and when you were in school.

I had wonderful friends in school since I came back to the states in the 3rd grade.  After we graduated and our lives separated, we recently were reunited on Facebook.  I love it now that we can keep in touch.
Kathy and Kim  have been my best friends for years now and I hate that we don’t live in the same area anymore. I’ve been gone now for 7 years now and even though we chat online during the week and speak on the phone now and again, my heart hasn’t been the same.

I had a really hard time when Kathy told me she had a pap smear came back bad and that she was going to have to have a complete hysterectomy. They were also going to look for other problems once they got in there, but luckily all tests came back clear and she is fine. It was very hard for me to be here and she was there not knowing if she had cancer or not. Very Hard!!

Kim received wonderful news about her son passing is law boards and I hate that I had to hear via email.  I know we all would’ve went out to celebrate he is finally threw with school and all his accomplishments.

I do get to see them maybe once a year when I go back to Missouri for a visit now and again.  The picture above was taken at our favorite place, the bowling alley, the last time I was up there for a visit.

I wish we could get together more often. We always have a great time together and they sure do make me laugh. I loved eating lunch with Kathy during the week, griping about who knows, enjoying a drink on Friday night after work and she was my favorite bowing partner. She was the sister I never had.

We will always be friends for life. Even if it is long distance.

I am always trying to improve the efficiency of my home to save me money and lately I have been doing some research on Noritz tankless water heaters. I like the idea of tankless and to tell you the truth, I could use the extra space too.  Endless water supply, saves on energy costs, individual temperature controls, low emissions and safer then conventional tank water heaters.  Sounds like the perfect water heater for me.

Blog Prompt – The fourth week of September is “National Dog Week.” Write about your feelings regarding our canine friends.

I have had a dog all my life, mainly boxers, as many of you know.  I would go nuts without my dog.  What a perfect friend anyone can have.  He is always there when I come home, when I wake up in the morning and when I need a friend.  I can tell him all my secrets and he would never judge me.  Just give him a lot of love, a little food and some time on a walk and Ernest T. Bass is one happy dog.  Oh, and throw in a T-R-E-A-T now and again for good measure.  I have to spell the word or he will know what I am talking about.  Did I mention he was the smartest dog in the world too?

I was just asked to work for a new designer and as I was introducing myself and reading the other CT’s intros, I had figured out I was the only one that wasn’t pregnant! Oh my goodness so many people are expecting right now. The photographer for my website is expecting too!

Blog Prompt – What was your ideal school experience?

I think that would be the year when I was a Senior when we went to the  State Championship in basketball.  That had never happened before and we were all so excited.  Buses full of students and cars full of spectators,  all went to watch the big game, featuring our little 3A school.

We won that year, and many more years after that.

It was the first time that I was staying in a hotel, with other students and supervised.  I thought I was all grown up.  It was fun and exciting and something I will never forget.

I love living in Florida and being able to sit outside on our lanai most of the year. Recently we added a water fountain and we haven’t looked back. It looks a lot like the picture to the left.

I have a butterfly garden right off my lanai and with this water feature, I planted something the butterflies live to drink from and the water is a treat for them too. I have seen a hummingbird there also. The sound is so soothing when I am out there and it sure does make the wrongs of the day float away.
