Extra-Curricular Activities and New Kit

What extra-curricular activities were you involved in?

I was in the band  and choir.  I loved those classes.  Band was a big part of my life for 6 years and I loved our Marching Blue Jay Band.   Our half time shows were great and I loved going on our day long trips every year.  Anything to get out of school all day long.

We marched in homecoming and a couple other parades every year and in my sophomore year, we welcomed our retiring Missouri Governor back to his home town.  It was 22 degrees in January and I was in my shorts and no sleeves majorette uniform.  It was cold!!!

Other things I did was a couple of musicals, Hello Dolly and My Fair Lady.  Lots of practice, staying after school and weekends, but it sure was worth and I loved every minute.

A picture of our Marching Band my Senior year at the yearly Band Festival in Jackson, MO.

Jackson Festival October 1974

I was the Drum Major that year.  I loved that outfit!!

Debt Consolidation Connection

My husband and I have been flipping homes for quite awhile now and loved what we were doing. Then the real estate fell completely out and we had 3 flip homes that were just sitting there and eating up all our capital we had worked so hard to earn.

As the months went on and the houses didn’t sell, we were slowly falling into debt that was hard on both of us. We called the banks, credit card companies and worked with them until we were able to sell the flip homes and get ourselves back on track. I think by getting help very early, we were able to stop the high interest on our credit cards and wait for the market to ease off.

We are still not completely out of the red, but are slowly seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. One of the things we looked into was to use Debt Consolidation for our bills. After doing a little research, this would have been great for our credit cards we used to buy supplies for the flip homes. One bill, one payment, less interest and a lot less worry on our part.

Debtconsolidationconnection.com is a great place to get debt help, Mortgage Loans, Refinance Quotes, Credit Consolidation, and help with your bills and if you are having trouble with spouse spending during a divorce. I noticed they will be offering a Free Bill Reminder soon. I know everyone forgets that a bill needs to be paid and with credit cards, you miss making that payment by one day, look at all that extra interest you have to pay along with a Late Fee!!

Check out all this great information to help you before you get so far in debt, it will take much longer to get yourself out.

Printing Services

Since I have my own business, I am constantly having business cards, address labels, post cards and posters printed. Even the magnet we have on the side of our car.

One of the printing services I use for my post cards is 123print. com.  I love what they have to offer and their prices are best and can’t be beat.  They have 2 different sizes to choose from and tons of designs to work with.   I just purchase the blank post card and design it myself with my logo and information.  I love how these turn out.  Perfect for information about their order to pass along to my customers.

I also love their photo cards.  Each year I send a picture of our family and use their photo cards.   I can’t find any other photo cards with any better price than what 123print.com can offer.

Easy to use too.  Just upload your picture and you are sent the photo card and envelopes ready for you to sign and put in the mail.  Great for all those families out there with hectic schedules.

Our First Responders

Blog Prompt: Let’s take some time today and remember those who were lost. Do you remember where you were and what you were doing? How did you react/feel?

What a tragic day for American all those years ago.  One minute you are driving to work, having breakfast and you hear our country has been attacked.

I was on the phone with my boyfriend and we both were watching TV.  I was off that day from work and getting ready to go to St. Louis with friends.  We were both in so much pain for those people and then the 2nd plane hit.

Not much was said during that phone call and then I realized my boyfriend was crying.  I asked him what was wrong and he told me all those firemen are going to die.  You see, he was  a fireman at that time.

I didn’t even think about our first responders in that situation.  All they think about is going into burning buildings and saving lives.  Thats exactly what all those firemen did that day.  Never thinking about themselves first.

It was such a hard day for him.  We stayed in touch that day on the phone and when I got back that afternoon from my day in St. Louis, I asked him if he would’ve have gone in those buildings when the call came out.

And without skipping a beat he said, “Of Course.  No question.  You do your job and save lives.”

I knew at that very moment I was going to marry the most courageous person I have ever known.  My hero.  My fireman.

God Bless all our first responders out there doing their job to save lives!

Back To School Glasses

As most of you already know, I have been wearing eyeglasses since I was 1 1/2 years old. A very long time and a lot of money for office visits, glasses and contacts. Every few years I need a new pair of glasses, which cost me about $500.00!!

I am always looking for great deals anywhere and I think I have found a great place for frames at zennioptical.com.

ZenniOptical.com Sells Stylish Prescription Glasses Online. You will find huge selection of frames, with single vision lens, sun sensor lens, tinted sunglasses lens, bifocal lens and progressive lens. The Secret to Zenni’s Low Prices is that they sell only their own manufactured frames direct to the customer, with no middlemen and virtually no advertising budget. You can buy a pair of single vision glasses for $8.00!! WOW!! They also have glasses with clip on sunglasses. I wear those now and love that. Don’t have to buy a separate pair of sunglasses.

I just wish there had been a place like this when I was a child.  I wore UGLY glasses and only a couple to choose from all my life.  My brother too!!  He wore those dorky black glasses that all the other guys had to wear!  The glasses in the picture are just so cute for a young girl to wear.  And would she not be the envy of her friends.  Cool, cool frames.

Another great thing about Zenni Optical, if your child breaks his glasses, you didn’t spend much on frames and don’t feel like a chunk out of your pocket to replace them.
