Abandoned Books
What books have you abandoned (without finishing) and why?
Oh my goodness. I love to read books and be entertained, but the past few years, my eyes have gotten worse, my vision is 20/1600 in both eyes, that its getting harder and harder for me to read. I had to go to hard back books, because the print is a bit larger and now its a struggle to read a few pages.
I am hoping in the next few months to have surgery done on my eyes, so that I will be able to enjoy driving and reading again.
But, back to the question. I have a book sitting on my night stand by Lisa Scottoline that I haven’t finished yet. It was getting a bit boring. Now my husband just read 2 of John Grishams books last week and really enjoyed them. So, those will be my next choices.
For those of us who are readers, the thought of not being able to read because of our eyes is too horrible!! Audio books are good, but I love the feel of a book in my hands
I agree with Glynis, I cannot even begin to imagine what it would be like not to be able to read. Side note: Although my son’s eyes were not as bad as yours, he did have laser surgery on them and has been thrilled with the fact that he can see without contacts or glasses.
I have been getting the Large Print books from the library and they are so much easier for me to read. I also like audio books but I’m more of a visual person than an audio one.
There are so many I don’t know where to start. I have started many many books and not finished them. I get into them and then life happnes, kids, school, scrapbooking!! hee hee!! So a lot of time they get forgotten!!
