Achievements and Layout
Blog Prompt – Achievement connotes accomplishment of something noteworthy, after much effort and often in spite of obstacles and discouragements. What do you feel is your greatest achievement?
My biggest achievement is raising my son to be a wonderful young man, being the best wife, daughter and friend possible. These achievements are always being achieved and worked on daily.
One thing that I am very proud of that I thought I could do and just decided to do this project by just doing research was to build my own computer. My 9 year old Compaq was on its last leg and I didn’t want all the things that you find on store bought computers. Those extras just eat up speed and hard drive space. So, I figured out what parts I needed, googled many things to read and when I had everything I needed to build my own computer, I couldn’t wait to get started.
I was worried because the instructions were really easy and I just didn’t think something like a computer could be so much fun to put together. It was like putting a puzzle together. First connect the processor and cooling fan to the motherboard, connect the motherboard to the case and then connect the hard drives and cd players/burners.
After I finished all that I just sat back and thought that was just way to easy. My next fear was when I turned it on for the first time and it would blow up. I took a deep breath, turned it on and before my eyes was the screen to download Windows operating system. YEA!! I couldn’t believe it!! I installed Windows and I was ready to go. I was never so proud of myself in my life. I actually put something together that had parts and wires and needed electricity to run.
It’s been over 3 years now and my little computer is still running like a charm. I have added a bit more RAM and another hard drive for storage. The one thing I did learn was that next time I will spend a little extra money on a quieter cooling fan. The whole computer cost me about $300 and I know many of you could build your own too.
Now on to a beautiful kit I am using.
Miss Crow’s Magickal Emporium has a great new kit called Petite Fille and you can find it here. Beautiful kit for baby girls with tons of pinks and greens and wonderful elements.

and here is my layout using this kit.
Have a great day,

so happy hubby is doing all that computer stuff for me
Gorgeous layout once again. While it does not compare to building your own computer, I have replaced a garbage disposal and put a car engine back together, LOL. I didn’t even think of those things when I wrote mine.
I can’t imagine building my own computer! I am thrilled that you were able to do this so that when I need help, I know who to come to!
