Best Teacher
Blog Prompt: Describe the best teacher you ever had.
I guess the teacher I admired the most was Mr. Fowlkes. He was my algebra teacher for 2 years in High School and I just loved the way he taught. I always understood what he meant and enjoyed the class very much. I just wish I had told him that at some point. Maybe he is reading this now in Blog Heaven. Thank you Mr. Fowlkes
Another teacher that saw my art ability was Mr. McCollum. He was always wanting me to stay in art class in High School for 4 years, but I only took it for 1. I regret that now because I love being creative and I miss painting like I use to.
I will always admire any teacher that wants to teach our children today. I look at the situation in a lot of our schools here in the US and it saddens me that teachers can’t take over their classes anymore and that a lot of administrations don’t stand behind them either. I hope someday, our children will let our teachers do their jobs again.

I’ll have to remember to thank my kids teachers more often. I used to send “Thank you for being a teacher” cards from time to time.
It is great that you had 2 teachers you really liked. I am lucky that I have taught in most places where the administration was supportive. Of course, if I have behavior problems, I deal directly with the parents first and that usually takes care of the problems. Then when I have to send a student to the administrator, everyone knows it has to be pretty bad so I get all of the support I need.
I also had a great introduction to Algebra… that is one subject that really needs a strong teacher to get you off on the right foot understanding the basics.
