Blog Prompt – The clothes that we wear some what describe our personality. Tell me about your favorite clothes.
I am a very casual clothes person for sure. I love my pull on tshirts and shorts. Throw in a pair of flip flops and I am happy. I haven’t put on a dress in a very long time now. Thats sad!
Now I have my nice shorts and my everyday shorts. Things are so casual around here that if you don’t wear shorts, then something is really wrong. I really love the skorts that our out there, but its hard to find a pair that is long enough for my legs. I like my shorts and skorts to be knee length.
Oh, and I love capris too!! So many different colors and styles to choose from. And I really love the tshirts that have just a bit of sparkle in them. My mother has some really nice tshirts like that. But, she has many functions to go to that she has to look “nice casual”.
My husband and I watched Marley & Me last night and we just loved that movie. Beware!! Have many tissues available during the movie. Anyone that has ever had a dog for a pet for many years can relate so much to this story.
Even though its been 3 years since we had to put down our aging and very sick boxer, Mia, this movie made me think about what a wonderful pet she was for 10 years.
And as I watched the movie last night with our boxer now, Ernest, and seeing the small tumors that are already growing on him, broke my heart. He has only been here with us for 3 years but he is about 7 years old and his little muzzle is already turning gray. He’s a great boxer, my buddy and my friend.

Blog Prompt – Today is May 1st and is Lei Day in Hawaii. When I lived there it was a day off at school, lots of parades, everyone dressed in traditional Hawaiian clothing and our school put on a pageant. Tell me about your favorite local festival.
Where I am from in Southeast Missouri, we always have the Dogwood and Azalea Tour each April. Its always so beautiful with all the pink and white dogwoods and all the different shades of azaleas in their finest. The picture above shows one of the homes on Main Street that is shown on the tour. The dogwoods line the streets and the homes have azaleas and other flowers all around them. There is a parade, a driving tour to look at the homes, people singing, contests for your baby, dog and if you are physical enough, a 5k run. The always have a wonderful piano concert at the local Baptist Church. I love the set up at the park with all the vendors and wonderful things to eat. All the crafts are shown too.
I sure do miss going to this every year with my family. We would all meet at the corner from our house, set up our chairs and watch the parade go by. I loved the years my son was in it with his band. My parents would always have a great late afternoon meal for all the family and friends to attend. It was usually a fish fry to die for!!
Some year I will go back just for the festival and just being with my friends will make it a great treat.

I’ve always been someone to hold my anger in and that bothers me. Why can’t I talk about things that really make me mad to the person who made me mad? I’m over 50 years old and haven’t learned this process yet. This is a subject that I could use some great advice about. I have also gotten to a point that I just don’t let stuff like that bother me anymore. If it doesn’t effect me or my family, I don’t care. And sometimes I shouldn’t be that way.
I hope to get over this one day and I’m afraid what will happen is that I will explode at someone and it won’t be pretty. So beware!!

The video clip below is really funny and yes, it does make fun of women drivers. But, as a woman driver who claims to not be the best of driver can relate. But, I can at least park my car in a space!! Let me know which clip you like the best.
I love dolphins and recently went to play with them at Discovery Cove. Here is a really interesting video of what Sea World has discovered dolphins doing. Its really worth the watch.

Blog Prompt – What is your favorite quote and how does it apply to you?
“What goes around, comes around”
This has been so true all my life. My favorite was while I was in high school, I wasn’t the “skinny” girl and I was teased about it by some girls. I wasn’t large by any means, but I wasn’t bone thin either. Yea, it bothered me. But, thats just the way I looked and I dealt with it.
Anyway, it was time for our 20th class reunion and I am the same size I was 20 years ago. One of the girls that use to tease me the most came in the door and when I saw her, I thought to myself, life is too good. She was, well to put it bluntly, as big as a barn. You bet I didn’t make any bones about going up and saying hi and seeing the look on her face. That was such a great party!!

Blog Prompt: Today is the Feast of Fabulous Wild Men Day. Tell about an important man in your life.
My man is defiantly fabulous, but wild? I think not!!!!! You should see him right now. He is walking around in his little cotton robe and barefoot. It’s a little chilly right now. He usually is only in his boxers in the house 99% of the time. He hates having to put on clothes. He just ain’t right when it comes to that.
The fabulous part is easy. I have never known a man like him before. He is so considerate to me and everyone else around him. He makes me laugh every single day, he cleans up after himself and he always takes his plate to the sink after dinner. I got him trained you say? No, his momma trained him right, thats for sure.
He always makes sure we go on a date at least once a month, he loves giving me a card now and again, I love to hear his little pet names and his hugs are the best. He’s a good kisser too!
Tears come into my eyes when I think about that I may be alone and without him in the future. What will I do without this strong man that is always there for me when I need him?
He will always be my rock, my soul mate and my fabulous man.
