Siblings and Layouts

Some of us have them; some of us don’t. Talk about your siblings or if you wished you had one.

I have a little brother who is about 3 years younger than me.  But, when you look at him, he is built like Mr. Atlas and really looks good for his age.  He is one of those people that don’t have to do much to keep the muscle tone nice.  He spent a year in Iraq and I am so proud of him for serving in the military all these years.

Basically my brother and I are the same, have a great time together, love to talk football and agree with alot of things.  Except our politics, but thats what makes the world go around.  We are close and I miss him being around where I can go get him when I wanted to or if he needed to talk.  I can always tell when something is wrong when he calls.  Sister’s know that!
He will always be my baby brother and I will always be there for him.  I always had a dream, that we would own a duplex.  He lived on one side and I the other.  You never know.  In our old days to come, we might live in the same nursing home!  ;)
CT NEWS!!
I was asked by Robyn Gough to join her CT team!!  I am so excited to use her beautiful kits and work for her.  Her store is DigiScrap Art and the kit I used for the layout above and below is a collab between Robyn and Heather Manning, another great designer.  You can find Strawberry Mint Chip here.

Chocolate Chip Cookies and Layouts

Blog Prompt: Today is National Chocolate Chip Day. Describe your favorite chocolate chip food.

How can I describe the taste of warm, gooey, creamy, smooth, luscious, sweet, buttery with a hint of crispness on the edge cookie?????  I mean, this cookie makes me smile when I just walk by it.  I adore it.  I drool over it.  I have gained weight over this wonderful creation.

You must have an ice cold glass of milk with it and once that cookie reaches my taste buds, it brings me back to a great day as a child, a wonderful night with my husband and just pure ecstasy!

These cookies do bring back memories of one of my favorite Phoebe lines from the TV show FRIENDS.  Monica is needing a cookie recipe and Phoebe says her grandmother has the best.  Monica asks Phoebe where they can find the recipe……..

Phoebe:Well, y’know I may have relatives in France who would know. My grandmother said she got the recipe from her grandmother, Nesele Tolouse.

Monica: What was her name?

Phoebe:Nesele Toulouse.  (She says this in a French accent)

Monica: Nestle Tollhouse?!

Phoebe: Oh, you Americans always butcher the French language.

Every time I hear her say that it just cracks me up!!  If you know this episode you know what I am talking about.

My Living Room Window, Birthday Coupon, Sad News and Layout

What I last saw out of my living room window.

I last saw my beautiful butterfly garden and my poor husband mowing the yard in this heat.  I also saw my beanstalk/tomato plant broke in half and new I would have to pull the plant out of the ground and put it out of its misery.  The tomato plant did us well and we had a good crop from it.  I think next time I will grow smaller tomatoes instead of the Big Bertha variety.

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!!

I want to celebrate my birthday with everyone and offer 10% off of any item at my store, Personalized Creations.  When you check out, just put BIRTHDAY as the coupon code for your discount for one day only!  There are new items in the store and some great stuff for summer time.

I also want to show off a layout I did with a lot of Heather Manning’s kits!  I love mixing and matching kits with tons of elements and Heather’s kits are just beautiful.  You must go by and check out her store out here.  I have been wearing glasses now for 50 years and what better subject to scrap about than that item that hangs on my nose.

Now to the sad news.  It was announced over the weekend that UGA VI had passed away!!  This is major tragic news for the Bulldog nation.

You ask, what is UGA VI??  Well, he is the University of Georgia’s mascot.  UGA is and has been one of the most famous mascots in the US!!

Uga VI became the school’s mascot in 1999. He was the son of Uga V, the only college mascot to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated. He was only 1-year-old when he replaced his father as the public face of the university’s athletics.

“Uga VI, the bulldog that represented the University of Georgia during two Southeastern Conference football championships, died from congestive heart failure at his home in Savannah, the dog’s owner said Saturday”, reported from Fox news.

A new UGA will be announced at a later date and I betcha his name will be UGA VII.   GO DAWGS!!!!!!!

Rules to Live By

Share some of the “rules” (serious or funny) that you live by.

1. My bed must be made up every morning.
2. I have a certain way of doing laundry and every other way is wrong.
3. The dishes must be washed after dinner and put in the dishwasher. My husband likes to let them “soak” in the sink. Man thing I guess.
4. When I am a passenger in a car, I have to sit behind the driver. That one is weird, but I don’t like watching traffic that much.
5. Try to help someone out everyday when possible.
6. Make sure all family and friends are told “Happy Birthday” on their day.
7. Try to lead the best life I can with God and my family.

Yesterday, I went to read Heather Manning’s blog (great designer and wonderful blog to read)and she was talking about the price of gas. I just thought I would list a few other places in the world and their gas prices.

Oslo , Norway – $6.82
Hong Kong – $6.25
Brussels, Belgium – $6.16
London – $5.96
Rome – $5.80
Tokyo – $5.25
Sao Paulo, Brazil – $4.42
Sidney , Australia – $3.42

And we think we have it bad in the US??? We have got to start drilling for our own oil and maybe our government will wake up and see this someday!!

I still believe the USA is the greatest country in the world, but we have got to fight for that position.

Berry-Licious

This beautiful layout was done by Hollie, who is a CT for Heather. The beautiful kit she used is Berry-Licious and is 50% off right now at Heathers store. Great deal and beautiful kit you can’t pass up. I also used it in my blog header above.

The bows you see are found in my store at Personalized Creations. These are great layered bows on a thin hard headband. The bow is also sold separately.

TV!!!!!!!!!

My 1st tv – 1958

Those TV Shows

Yes, I admit it, I love that boob tube!! For all you youngins, that’s what they called it back in the 50′s and 60′s.

I love watching TV for the sole purpose of entertainment. I watch some news mainly for area weather reports. The weather here in Florida can get a bit over whelming sometimes. I do watch Fox News for a more balanced news, instead of the major channels, which can be very one sided. But, in all. the news is so depressing anymore, why bother.

I LOVE reality TV. Why again, I don’t know!! I guess because it keeps me grounded in my own life. When Survivor started that summer of 2000, I just loved it. I was living alone in my little apartment, it was summer, nothing on tv and then there was Survivor. I’ve been hooked ever since. I also love watching American Idol, Big Brother and my very favorite, Amazing Race.

I do love watching crime and drama shows and have the same shows I watch over and over.

Young & the Restless (hooked since the 70′s)
CSI and CSI:Miami (William Peterson is fine!!)
Lost (it draws me back every week, even though I don’t know whats going on)
Prison Break (the guys are cute)
Criminal Minds (best on TV right now, great story lines)
Numbers (that guy kind of makes me nervous talking all that math sometimes)
Boston Legal (gave up that show. Was wayyyyy too political and not funny anymore)
48 hours (I always try to figure out if they are guilty or not)

I wish there were tv shows like what we use to watch back in the 60′s and 70′s. I worry about young people today and what is on tv that they are watching. There are no grounded family shows anymore for children to watch and learn values from. Very sad!
