Extra-Curricular Activities and New Kit

What extra-curricular activities were you involved in?

I was in the band  and choir.  I loved those classes.  Band was a big part of my life for 6 years and I loved our Marching Blue Jay Band.   Our half time shows were great and I loved going on our day long trips every year.  Anything to get out of school all day long.

We marched in homecoming and a couple other parades every year and in my sophomore year, we welcomed our retiring Missouri Governor back to his home town.  It was 22 degrees in January and I was in my shorts and no sleeves majorette uniform.  It was cold!!!

Other things I did was a couple of musicals, Hello Dolly and My Fair Lady.  Lots of practice, staying after school and weekends, but it sure was worth and I loved every minute.

A picture of our Marching Band my Senior year at the yearly Band Festival in Jackson, MO.

Jackson Festival October 1974

I was the Drum Major that year.  I loved that outfit!!

I Love Cows and layout

Blog Prompt: Today is Cow Appreciation Day. Tell why you appreciate a cow today.

How can anyone not appreciate cows!!  I mean, they provide us meat, milk and great entertainment.

Let me explain.

I love Angus beef steaks and burgers.  To me, this is the best beef out there.  I love a good Angus fillet for dinner and you can get great Angus burgers just about any where now.  I would love to get some for my freezer.

One of the things I wanted to do in my life before I met my maker, was to milk a cow.  When I use to help with Kindergarten children, we went on a field trip to our local dairy.  They brought out one of the cows for the children to see and their little eyes were so cute when they saw how big that cow was.  The farmer wanted to know if anyone wanted to milk her and no one raised their hand, so, I did!!  Believe me, its not the easiest thing to do, but I finally got the hang of it.  I will always remember that.

And finally, cows are great entertainment you know.  I love the cows that do the advertising for my favorite fast food chain,  Chick fil a.  If you live in the Atlanta area, where Chickfila started, you see some of the best billboards with cows all over them and the sayings are just hilarious.

I saw one that says This Space for chicken and you see the cows up there painting over the 1-800 number with their cow number.   The ones they have during election time are really cute too.

So lets send some love to our cow friends today.

The workstation edition is great for help desks who need security, higher service quality and professional features.   You can reach remote PC’s, even if they aren’t attended, security is 256-bit encryption – the highest in its class, generate inventory of hardware and software resources and change settings on remote PC’s without disturbing the user.  These are just a few of the great features that PROXY Pro 6 Workstation Edition has to offer for your company.

The gateway edition has all the features of the workstation edition plus you can organize large amount of PC’s, security with with SSL certificates,  enable two or more help desk technicians to share control of a remote computer for help or training (great feature), send Proxy software in large networks and record screen activity.

The Right Way and Layout

Blog Prompt – “Political correctness is tyranny with manners.” ~Charlton Heston. Do you agree? Why or why not?

I have to agree with Mr.  Heston on this one.  Political correctness in the United States has just gone over the edge.  We are known as the United States of the Offended.

How can everyone in this country expect to have everything perfect for them and what they believe in?  Its impossible and its wrong.  It’s a political ploy for those who believe truth is what appears to be right for the moment.

The quest for a PC nation is killing our country.  Economically,  socially and physically. That’s the long and short of it. We’re no longer the great melting pot which allowed Poles, Italians, Germans, Chinese, Japanese, Jamaican and Irish immigrants to come to our country with their best foot forward, demanding nothing but a chance, poor but proud. They left their languages and customs to become Americans, while trying to learn the language of their new land and adopt its customs.

Pro. 14:12 says, “There is a way which seemth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”  I believe in Gods word and his word is the right way.

Sibling and Layout

Blog prompt: Today is National Sibling Day. If you have a sibling, describe your relationship. If you don’t, write about someone else’s relationship with a sibling.
siblings

Yes, I have a little brother but by looking at him though, you would think he was my big brother. Our family is not small in frame at all and when you put my “little” brother next to me, he is a Mr. Atlas without working on it. Beautiful wavy hair, a great smile, always making me laugh and a great father and husband.

I have tons and tons of stories about my brother and how he use to annoy me to no end when I was younger. Come to think of it, he still does annoy me! But, my best stories of him are of recent.

He married for the 1st time at the age of 42 and became a father for the 1st time a couple years later to a wonderful son named Denver. My parents now have 2 grandchildren 25 years apart. I don’t get to see my brother much now since I live in Florida, but we still see each other at least once a year.

But the thing I will always be most proud of my brother for is that he has given many years of his life to our military. He recently spent a year in Iraq with his National Guard unit and missed the birth of his only child. Those were long days while he was gone, but he has made a commitment to his country and he will always stand by that.  He will retire soon from the National Guard after 20 years and I know he will be glad to see that extra retirement money in  a few years.

The kit I used is by April Staker

What I Need To Do This Month and Layout

Blog prompt: Name eight things that you want to accomplish in the month of April.

Oh wow!!

1.  Wake up every morning and thank God for the wonderful day and my life.

2.  Get my butterfly garden back in shape.  (This past winter burned and killed everything and I have to replace all the plants)

3.  Get all my CT work done.

4.  Prepare my blog prompts for May and post in as many blogs as I can.

5.  Visit with my mom more.

6.  Do the best I can in our painting business.  We are starting to get a lot of jobs and I always want to make sure when I leave that house, that the job we did is the best possible.

7.  Take the dog for more walks and spend some time with him.  Now that we are working more, he has to stay in his cage more.

8.  LIVE, LOVE and LAUGH!!

And everyday, I make sure to have the best day with my husband.
