Puzzle Mania

Blog Prompt: Today is National Puzzle Day. What kind of puzzles do you like or dislike and why?

My husband and I love doing puzzles.  After we get done with taxes every year, its like a release of tension and we will get a 1000 piece puzzle, lay it out and start putting it together.  He will work on it a bit and then I will work on it.  Depending on how difficult it is, we usually put one together in a week.

The thing of it is, we always set this puzzle up on the kitchen table and it gets in the way.  I have a table on the lanai and I need flat surface to put out there to lay the puzzle pieces on .  One of those card table fold up tops.

My fav puzzle right now was one that was all the dog breeds.  That was fun to put togther.  The ones with a lot of one color, I don’t care to put them together.  But, I will do it just to work my brain a bit more.

The picture shows the dog puzzle. Lots of brown in that one.

Puzzles and Layouts

Today in 1924 the first crossword puzzle book was published. Do you like puzzles (jigsaw, crossword…)?

I love puzzles! I use to do the one in the TV Guide every week. My father and I would race to the mailbox to see who got it first. That one is pretty simple. I am trying to learn how to do sudoku puzzles and still working on that right now. I hear working puzzles are great for your brain when you age. It’s suppose to help keep the brain sharp and ward off Alzheimer’s. I’m for that!!

I have done a couple of layouts this week that I would like to share with you.

My poor dog is on such a schedule. First thing in the morning, he will follow my husband around until they go out to the lanai and the dog will sit by his bowl. He doesn’t move until my husband sits down his bowl and tells him its ok. Ceaser Millan would be so proud of the pack leaders in our house. Ernest T. Bass has come along way since we rescued him 2 years ago. He is making a wonderful dog and companion.
