Favorite Body Part and Layout

Blog prompt: October 15th was Love Your Body Day. What do you like about your body?
I know this is such a loaded question, but I know all of us out there has something about our bodies that we love.
I did a quick check list of my body parts and there seemed to be only one thing left and that would be my hair.  I had blond hair while I was young and as I aged, it turned darker.  Something I got from my dad.  Even at his age, he had a lot of hair.
I have very thick, wavy, dark brown hair that is pretty much easy to take care of when its short.  It grows fast and I have to have a trim every 8 weeks.  My hair gives my stylist fits because it is so thick.  The color I use on my hair, is my natural color.  Even though I hate that I have to color it because I’m just quite not ready to let it go grey yet.   I have seen beautiful grey hair on some older women that I would love to have.  But, right now, my grey is very spotty.  Kind of weird looking and it does make me look and feel older.  So, as long as color comes in a box, it will be in my bathroom cabinet.
I do complain because I shed worse than any dog.  Every time I blow dry my hair, I have to go around and pick up all the hair on the floor and you wouldn’t believe what is laying in the shower after I wash it.
I had always wanted a little girl to play with her hair, put up in pigtails and wear little bows.  But, since I had a little boy, I never got that joy.  I do play around with the grand girls hair, when they let me.

Fast Food, Dog Collars and Layout

Blog Prompt: Ray Kroc, Founder of McDonald’s Corp. – was born Ray Arthur Kroc on October 5, 1902 in Oak Park, Illinois. Died January 14, 1984. What is your favorite fast food place and what do you like to order?

Who doesn’t love fast food!!  I would eat it all the time, but I know the consequences.  Just smelling those wonderful cheeseburgers and french fries makes me gain 20 pounds.  So, I might have a fast food dinner once a month.  I figure all the working out I do, I can eat one really bad meal.

Anyway, back to the question, my favorite fast food right now is Chick-fil-A.  Living in Missouri, I had never heard of this place because its mainly in the south.  When I met my husband and he took me to Georgia the first time, I kept noticing the crazy billboards with cows all over them and they looked like the printing was done by a 2 year old.  But they are great!!  During the 2004 Presidential election, the bill boards were just hilarious.  I have only seen the really funny ones up in the Jonesboro, GA area where Mr. Cathy lives.  I’ve seen a couple down here in Florida, but they are the average, Eat More Chicken ones.

Finally I asked my husand what Chick-fil-A was and I got the “Where have you been all your life?” look.  Forgetting I lived up north from him.  So, he took me to my first Chick-fil-A and I just loved the chicken wraps and their waffle fries!!  Of course, they are known for the chicken fillet with mustard and pickle sandwich, which McDonald’s is trying to copy.  If you love chicken, this is the place for you.

I also love the story of Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-Fil-A.  He lives where my husband was born and raised in Georgia and I also got to see his average ranch style home.  You would never know this man was this great entrepreneur.   I also love how he runs his companies and what he does for the surrounding community.  The restaurants are always closed on Sunday and he just doesn’t hire anyone to work there either.  I have never gone in a Chick-Fil-A where all the employees were not very nice, neat looking and considerate.

He also has the Dwarf House which is a very interesting restaurant in itself.  When you walk in the door, you either go left for very fast service and leave or to the right for a more sit down and enjoy your meal.  And yes, there is a dwarf red door in the very front for the kids and, well, I had to go through it too!  We would eat breakfast there sometimes

I love this quote by Mr. Cathy – Each person’s destiny is not a matter of chance; it’s a matter of choice.  It’s determined by what we say, what we do, and whom we trust.

I have been wanting to make my dog his own collars for a long time now and I finally got around to it yesterday.  I had some Halloween material and the collar hardware and got to it and was really surprised how easy the project was and how well it looked.  I love it when a project turns out better than I expected.

I think he looks quite handsome with his new collar and he posed so well for this picture too.  Good boy, Ernest!

Siblings and Layouts

Some of us have them; some of us don’t. Talk about your siblings or if you wished you had one.

I have a little brother who is about 3 years younger than me.  But, when you look at him, he is built like Mr. Atlas and really looks good for his age.  He is one of those people that don’t have to do much to keep the muscle tone nice.  He spent a year in Iraq and I am so proud of him for serving in the military all these years.

Basically my brother and I are the same, have a great time together, love to talk football and agree with alot of things.  Except our politics, but thats what makes the world go around.  We are close and I miss him being around where I can go get him when I wanted to or if he needed to talk.  I can always tell when something is wrong when he calls.  Sister’s know that!
He will always be my baby brother and I will always be there for him.  I always had a dream, that we would own a duplex.  He lived on one side and I the other.  You never know.  In our old days to come, we might live in the same nursing home!  ;)
