Blog Prompt – Look at the pictures on your walls. Pick one and write about it.

Right now I am looking at my son’s college graduation picture. I am so proud of him getting his degree and now working on his Masters in Music. He is so talented when it comes to music and playing instruments. One of those people that can easily pick up an instrument and play it. He learned how to play the piano in college.

He will be 30 this year and I can’t believe he is that old already. My little baby is all grown up and teaching children to enjoy music just as he does.

A layout of my baby when he graduated from high school. I just cried and cried that night.

DSP Music freebie kit

This is an old layout I did and I don’t have any credits for it. I’m pretty sure everything came from the freebie area at DSP.

But it shows the 3 times my son has graduated. Nursery School, High School and then College.

Have a wonderful day,

Blog Prompt: Sunday is Winnie the Pooh’s Day. Describe your favorite childhood toy.

I don’t remember a toy that I drug around with me all the time. Yea, I had my baby dolls and stuff like that. But, I did have panda stuffed bear that when you shook him, his belly would jingle like bells. I kept Teddy all those years and he sat proudly in my bedroom until I left home and was expecting my son. He then took up residency at my home and in my son’s room. He lived there until his retirement here in Florida. I was looking at Teddy the other day and I was wondering if he could be taken to the cleaners. He is really showing his age, but his tummy still rings just as loud as it did when I was young.

I wish I had a picture of me with Teddy, but I did make a layout with all my other friends when I was young. I used the 365 Tool Kit at Weeds & Wildflowers. This is a wonderful kit to scrap events where you have a lot of pictures and need templates and wonderful journaling items. This is a wonderfully fun kit and I know I will use many times.

I’ve had quite a few cars in my life and I wish I had never had that many cars. What a waste of money buying a brand new car.

As I grew older, I realized it was better for me to own a used car and to have it for many years. Cars now a days seem to last much longer and knock on wood, I haven’t had major problems with any of my cars except for my very first car, the VW Karmann Ghia. It literary rusted apart and then I went on to my next car the 2 door Skylark. It was pretty and made just for me. I then went on to a station wagon, which didn’t last very long at all. The Jeep was just coming out when I purchased it. No carpeting, no radio, nothing was in that vehicle. But it did well for me in the winters and I had it for quite a while.

I then went on to my first foreign car the Nissan Altima which I loved alot. It was a stick and I truly enjoyed driving it. When my son left for college, we traded in for the Nissan Maxima, which was bigger for all our weekly trips to his college for visits and ballgames. My son and husband were not comfy in my Altima. It was too small for over 6 foot tall men. I kept that Maxima for 10 years and traded it off on a used Honda CRV which we still have today and its almost at 100,000 miles. Great vehicle and gets great gas mileage. My poor Maxima was in pretty bad shape when we traded it in. The word “Maxima” was on the back of the car and after 10 years all it said was “Maxi”. Something I was proud to drive around with on the back of my car. I think it had almost 125,000 miles on it.

I don’t know if I would ever buy a new car again. My fun side of me wants a convertable VW bug and my sensible side says a Volvo, one of the safest cars on the road today.
***************************************

My son is turning 29 today and I thought I would make a quick layout about him today. The kit I used is the Autumn collab kit by Brigit Kerr and Flergs. I just love their work! I know I will always find beautiful kits from them. The word art is a freebie by Dielle.
