Its been a long time since I have had to send a lunch box with my son to school and I remember the problems he constantly complained about. Why can’t I have this kind of sandwich? Because I couldn’t keep it cool enough to deem it safe enough for him to eat at lunch. The cool packs just didn’t stay cool long enough. So, it was always PB & J for lunch. Virtually every time he took his lunch.
But not anymore and if any of you moms out there have had this problem, check out PackIt lunch boxes!
These are so neat and they stay cool for hours and you don’t have to worry if your child might loose the ice pack, because the ice pack is built into the lunch box!!
And yoy know me. I’m always looking for a deal and here is one with these nice Packit lunch boxes. They are running a BOGO deal right now where you can get 2 of these for only $19.95!! WOOHOO!!

These make great Christmas gifts and I know Mr. G would love one to take to work with him. These are not just for the kiddies. Adults would love these to take to work. Don’t pay high prices for a nice lunch when you can bring your own.
Let me know in the comments what you would pack in your own Packit Lunch Box.
I’m the first to say that I love to wear jewelry around my wrist, neck or finger when I go out on a special date with my hubby. I also love it for everyday wear that will last for many years. I’m tired of paying good money for jewelry that only fades or I will end up throwing out. I want jewelry with a classic look that will last for years.
I found a great website that sells this kind of jewelry called J’Aime Jewels. I love the selection of jewelry they have. There is so much to look at with great prices and wonderful ideas for gifts for me to choose from this year. So many different styles to choose from and very unique and elegant. All the jewelry is made from the finest gemstones and one of a kind pieces that every woman would love to have in her collection.
After checking out all the different collections J’Aime Jewels offers, my favorite is the necklace in the picture above just grabbed my eye!! It comes from the Andaman Sea collection made with vintage Lucite and 24k Vermeil and loaded with gorgeous flower and leaf charms. This necklace is just part of the Andaman Sea collection which also includes stunning earrings to match.
With Christmas just around the corner, I never know what to get my mom. Until this year. I saw some beautiful vintage necklaceswhich she would love to wear and show off.
Are you needing some vintage, one of a kind and classic looking necklaces for a gift this year or maybe for yourself? Check out JaimeJewelry.com.
I have entered many contests in my life, but I have never had to make such a hard decision as in this contest.
How can anyone choose between Puppies vs. Babies? Lets look at both of them.
Babies – cute, cuddly, smell good, adorable, adorable little smiles, cutest little feet ever and you just want to pinch their little cheeks!
Puppies – cute, cuddly, smell good, nice puppy breath, precious expressions, carry around with you in your purse and endless love and joy!
Well, those descriptions didn’t help much with deciding which is cuter. And you could look at the extreme end of babies and puppies. There are some ugly babies out there. When I was pregnant with my son, I went to see Rocky 2. When they showed that baby on the screen, I gasped. I just knew my baby was going to have a head of hair like that baby did. But, instead he was born with no hair. He was such a cute baby!!
And there are some really ugly puppies out there too. How about those hairless dogs with muppet fuzzy stuff on their tails and heads!! YUK!! Or a Chihuahua puppy. It looks like a little rat! And all they do is shake all the time.
But all my past boxer puppies are some of the cutest little puppies ever born. Now that is a dog with some substance. NO muppet hair or rat looking body.
Look at the face in the picture to the left. How can you not love that little wrinkled up face and that stubbly little tail while it shakes his whole body when he is happy.
But back to me original question. What is cuter. Puppies or Babies? I just can’t decide!! But maybe I can be persuaded to one side if I hear from you guys.
Here is your chance to voice your opinion with a Puppies vs. Babies online contest. How much fun this can be to see how everyone else feels. Come on and join the fun and vote!!
I love Halloween and always enjoyed it with my son when he was smaller. Even though we lived in a small community, I sure did enjoy seeing his face as we went from house to house.
But, have you ever thought about costumes for Christmas time? Kids love to dress up all the time and why not at Christmas too. I love the idea of looking online to find a great holiday costume for my child or for that adult who loves to dress up in costumes. I think I would’ve loved also to shop on line to find a great Christmas costume for him. Something we didn’t have all those years ago. But, oh how times have changed and so has the ability to shop from your home.
I found a great place to purchase called Costume Castle for the grandkids and they are so cute!! They have all the latest costumes to choose from and the idea of shopping on line and having it sent to my front door is something I will always do. They have a wide selection of elf, angles, hats, shoes and of course, Santa costumes. So easy to just order and have it delivered to your home when you know you don’t have the time to shop for one. They have a great secure website and trouble free ordering. They also carry other costumes for other events too!
I love to make pasta with red sauce and meatballs for dinner. One of my favorite comfort foods. But, Mr. G, isn’t a really big fan of tomato sauce. Oh, he likes spaghetti sauce, but he wants a LOT of meat in it. I mean, he wants to see more meat then sauce.
So when the good people of Foodbuzz Tastemaker’s program sent me Newman’s Own pasta sauce and salad dressings, I knew I would have to think really hard to make a recipe that he would like, still be tasty, quick and not cost much. Here is the recipe I came up with.
Meaty Ziti
1 pound ziti (can sub penne) pasta
1 pound of ground beef
1 pound of Italian flavored sausage
1 jar of Newman’s Own Pasta Sauce
Chopped Onion to taste
1/2 pound of mozzarella cheese, grated
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Directions:
1 Cook pasta according to directions until the pasta is al dente—edible but still a little firm. Drain the pasta through a colander. Toss with a little olive oil so the pasta does not stick together while you make the sauce.
2 Brown well sausage and ground meat. Add the onions and stir well to combine. Sauté everything until the onions are translucent and beginning to brown, about 4-5 minutes. Then add the tomato sauce and stir well. Bring to a simmer.
3 Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spread pasta on the bottom of a 9×13-inch casserole pan, then layer half of the mozzarella cheese. Layer on the pasta and then the rest of the mozzarella cheese. Last, layer the parmesan cheese.
4 Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. I have found if I cover this it keeps the cheese from burning and drying out the casserole since the meat sauce is so thick.
NOTES: You could use ground turkey meat and ground Italian turkey sausage and use different types of cheese
I didn’t tell Mr. G what I was making for supper and when I brought it out of the oven, he gave it a quick glance and asked, “How much tomato sauce did you use?”
Here is Mr. G’s taste test reaction:
He really did love this recipe and said it was “A Keeper”. When I hear those 2 words, I know I will be making this recipe again. The sauce was perfect and I know I will be using Newman’s Own pasta sauce for now on.

This was a very economical meal with plenty left overs for another meal and I also put another serving in the freezer for later. We will eat the rest of the bread sticks when I make soup in a few days.
I have a friend who’s husband wears medical scrubs almost everyday in his job. I asked her the other day where he got his uniforms and she told me about blueskyscrubs.com and that they sell discount medical scrubs.
Her husband loves their products and learned about it from another colleague, who she said always has the nicest looking scrubs. She said they wash up well and last a really long time. There were many colors to choose from for nurses and other medical uniforms too. She really loves how the uniforms fit her frame and doesn’t have to worry about them being too big or snug.
They also carry hats, jackets, shirts, medical coats and other accessories at really great prices. Looking for lab coats? They have those too!
There are so many times when people in my office make treats and bring them in for everyone else to eat. Well, it’s even more intense around Halloween because it seems like everyone is making their own versions of Halloween candy to share with everyone. I like to get in on some of that light competition too and see how my creations measure up to everyone else’s.
I looked online to see if I could find a good Halloween-centric recipe to fix for the office and take with me. I found all kinds of stuff with my Clear 4G and had a tough time picking which one I actually wanted to fix.
But I picked out this layered candy bar that had all kinds of stuff in it. It had so much stuff that I thought that it would have to be delicious. I think that I was right too! I actually made a second batch to keep for myself at home. I was especially glad that I did that when the candy bars all disappeared within an hour of me putting them in the break room!
