Insurance Quotes

I am always worried if my homeowners insurance will take care of things if we are hit by all the water, wind or tornado. I was reading the other day where some one’s car was destroyed by a tornado and their car insurance wouldn’t pay because it was an act of God.

These bring up interesting questions. So, I started doing some research for insurance in my state of Florida and found where I can get free cheap auto insurance and also find insurance agents close by. I was able to view insurance quotes from a lot of major insurance companies for my car and home.

Living in Florida has its challenges, but keeping up with the latest insurance quotes will save me money in the long run.

Halloween Hillbilly Costumes

I love Halloween and always enjoyed it with my son when he was smaller.  Even though we lived in a small community, I sure did enjoy seeing his face as we went from house to house.  I made a few of his costumes and as he aged, we would sit outside and give out candy to the children.  He always loved his costumes so much and would play with them for months afterwords.  Even though I made them and enjoyed that very much, I think I would’ve loved also to shop on line to find a great place to purchase Halloween Costumes  for him.  Something we didn’t have all those years ago.  But, oh how times have changed and so has the ability to shop from your home.

I also love the costumes they have for adults too.  I was looking around at all the different kinds of costume choices and came up with the perfect one for my husband and myself.  We consider ourselves rednecks and the hillbilly wedding costumes are perfect for that.  There is also have teeth you can buy for hillbillies.  Those are great too.

Here is pictures of those great costumes and my husband and I would look great in these and I know, we would have a great time wearing them.  It’s kind of our everyday life.  :)

My Music

Did you listen to a lot of music as a teenager? Did you have a stereo, radio, cd player or reel to reel? Who was your favorite music artist? Favorite song? Which one still moves you today?

I have loved music, I guess, since day one. It all started with Dick Clark and I loved watching him for years until he went off the air. But, when The Monkee”s started their tv show, I fell in love!! To this day I can still tell you their names and all that personal stuff you would read about them in those teen magazines. I was in high school during the 70’s and disco was a big hit, along with what I called “drug music”. I really liked the disco music, but I wasn’t into the other stuff. I loved watching MTV during the 80’s, but when the music made a drastic change in the 90’s, I stopped watching it. Today I still listen to a lot of soft rock music virtually everyday, along with country music. I guess I basically love all music, except for rap.

Since I am a computer nerd, I love my mp3 player and cd’s. My husband though loves his records and will get them out every once in awhile and play them. I constantly have the soft rock channel playing on Direct TV while I am in the house. Great music and no commercials!!

I guess my love for music, I passed on to my son, because he is a music/band teacher and truly loves it as much as I do.

Survivor

I HATE, HATE, HATE coconut! It’s like eating paper and the texture just really makes me shake when its in my mouth. My mother would put coconut in a cake, knowing that I love that type of cake, and all I have to do is put the bite to my lips and I can feel it!! She thinks its funny. I think its cruel to ruin perfectly good cake with that stuff. This is the only thing that will cause me not to have some cakes and cookies, even though I want them so bad, because there is coconut in them. YUK!!

I could never be on Survivor because they eat that stuff 24/7. So, I guess I will never win a million dollars.

Speaking of Survivor, get ready!  Survivor starts this Thursday and girls, there is a really hot doctor on there that I am keeping my eye on!

So don’t forget to watch this season.

Places I Must See

You won the travel lotto! You will get an all expense paid trip for you and your family to 5 places anywhere in the world. List the 5 “Must See” places in the world you would go see.

1. Hawaii is my first choice because I had lived there back in the early 60’s while my dad was stationed there in the Navy. I would love to go back and see where I use to go to school and where I lived.

2. Switzerland is really for my husband. His father served during World War II and was stationed in the Switzerland area and he would love to go back and see the things his dad had seen. I have never been out of the US before and this would be a challenge for me but I think very exciting.

3. An Alaskan cruise in the summer time. I have heard its just beautiful up there.

4. Australia would be my next choice. By everything I have ever read or seen, this little country seems to have it all when it comes to nature and city life!! Its so beautiful and I would love to see it in person.

5. My last choice would be to see parts of the US that I have not seen yet. There are so many exciting places and history in this great country I live in. I would love to rent and RV and just drive and drive from one city to another and see all the wonderful people and places. Read all the history and just soak it all in.

PC Library

I am always wanting to learn new and interesting things when it comes to my computer and computer language.  Even though I have a degree in Computer Science from the 70’s, we weren’t taught even basic language and I had to teach myself how to build a computer or search for html codes.

I recently found a great place where you can find all the information about PC errors, ports and technical terminology.  This site is Microsoft Gold Certified partner and believe you me, there is more information there than I could ever take in.  Example: TCP Port 445 is just one of the pages you can go to and it will scan your computer to check all your ports.  Great place and great information.

Romance Anyone?

Blog Prompt: Today is Valentino Day. Describe a romantic evening that you would love to have tonight.

My husband and I love to have dinner at a very quite area, where the music is soft, the lighting is softer and the food is great.  Just sitting there enjoying each others company, good food, a lot of hand holding and a nice drink.  Of course, there would have to be a “to die for” dessert at the end of it all with a great cup of coffee.

After dinner will be, well, let’s say better then the “to die for” dessert.  ;)

I am so like a car!!

If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I’ve got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull …. but that’s not the worst of it.My headlights are out of focus and it’s especially hard to see things up close.

My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather. My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.

It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently. But here’s the worst of it ——Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter….. either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!

Vegas Anyone?

I love going to Vegas and each time I go I find a new adventure to try.  Even though I don’t gamble that much there is so much other exciting things to see and do on Vegas vacations.  Tours, the strip, shows and driving out in the vast open area around Vegas is breath taking.  Try Vegas for your next vacation.
