July was a sad month for this area as the last shuttle went into space and returned home. So many jobs lost and a program which lasted for 30 years was now over.

I’m so glad I was able to enjoy a few of the blast offs and seeing one of countries greatest creations.

I used items from Weeds and Wildflowers and their new templates for 2011.

What a nice month is was this year. Its my birthday month and I wanted to go the butterfly garden at the University of Florida. It hadn’t rained for weeks and that day a tropical depression popped up and it rained most of the day. Of course, the butterfly garden was rained on also. I wanted to stay so long and just enjoy those beautiful flying creatures and take lots of pictures. But instead, it was a couple of quick looks and a few pictures. I hope we can go back when the weather isn’t so bad. We both really enjoyed the drive to Gainsville though.

May is the time in Florida to get ready for the heat and enjoy the last few nice days. It was also our 9th anniversary, so we went on a little day trip and had a nice dinner by the river. I watched my home county in Missouri have their levy blown in the spillway and many farmers lost everything. We also said good bye to my brother as he headed to Afghanistan.

I used kits from Weeds and Wildflowers.

April was time to have our annual Spring Faire with the Garden Club and what a great event it was. There were so many different plants and other items we had for sale and this year was our best year yet in sales. Its always hard work to get everything organized, but our chairman is great and the event goes off smoothly.

March was a good month for me and my family. My brother came down to visit for a week before he left for training and to head off to Afghanistan for a year. It will be a long year for us, but being part of a military family, you know this is part of the life they choose. We will miss him!!

It’s a new year for my scrapbooking and I love what Weeds and Wildflowers has brought out for the year of 2011. They call it the Everyday Life and I love how it makes all my pictures look. I will make 2 pages for one month. I love how I’m not obligated to take pictures everyday now.

February is full of flowers starting to bud and Florida greening up a bit. I love taking pictures of those.

Project 365 – December 20 – 31

Well, the year of 2010 is over and this is my last layout for the year. The last two weeks were combined into one layout. Of course, Glenn and I enjoyed our Christmas dinner with my mom and one of her neighbors. We love sharing Christmas with new people.

The year is almost up on my scrapbook pages and its time for a few Christmas parties. I loved the one we had with the Garden Club. Shared time with friends and great food. I also won one of the door prizes. YEA!

Project 365 – December 6 – 12

December sure did come around and bring some serious cold to our area. Everything is brown once again and my palms are all burned again. There is still a bit of green there, which is a good sign and I hope they come back again this summer.

Mom and I went on the Garden Club’s Christmas Tour and she enjoyed it very much. I love looking at all the different homes and their decorations.
