Mmmm, mmmm your post has made me hungry! Sunday dinner for us growing up was often fried chicken. My mom didn't fry chicken though so KFC was our Sunday treat. My DH's mom on the other hand made fried chicken about once a week.

I don't fry chicken myself (never learned) but KFC here leaves much to be desired but Chicken Express has some great fried chicken. About once a month or every other month we'll stop by after church and bring some home.

I used to work in the bakery of our local grocery store. We had a hot plate buffet that we were also responsible for, and Sundays were fried chicken day. We'd cook 5 or 6 chickens -- dipping them in egg first and then in the batter. I don't know if it was the seasoning or the egg or what, but that chicken was the crispiest and had the best taste I'd ever tasted. I learned how to do a number of things while working there -- decorating cakes, cooking donuts and lots of different breads/rolls, making pizza...

If I have to eat fried chicken, cold is definitely the way to go. Never tried it on a tube though. Ummmm, may have to give that one a try. :)
