Donuts Anyone?
Blog Prompt – Today is National Donut Day and describe to me your favorite donut.
I am not a big donut eater, especially in the morning. For some reason, my body doesn’t want a lot of sugar first thing in the morning. I would love to know why my body is like that because as the day goes on, sugar is always on my mind.
There is a place in Sikeston, MO (a town close to where I was raised) that had the best donuts in the world. They made their own and when you got them right out of the fryer, they are the best. They are known as the Donut Specialists!
When I moved further south, I had never had a Krispy Kreme donut and my future husband made sure that was one of the first things I did.
Those are really good donuts, but I was still a bit partial to our hometown made donuts.
So a taste test had to be done. The next time he was in Missouri to see me, he tried Houchins Donuts and sure enough, he had to agree, they were better. 
I haven’t had a donut in a while and I will be sure to visit our hometown donut shop to make another sweet memory.

I didn’t know it was donut day, now I’m going to have to be sure I eat one. Okay now you will have to send me one from your hometown LOL

I don’t like a lot of sugar in the morning either. I’d rather have eggs or a bagel but not a donut. Of course after breakfast I’d be glad to eat donuts all day long!

I have to admit to having a fondness for donuts. Here in Ireland I sneak out every Sunday with my 2 daughters who are 5 and 6 to pick up the Sunday papers and we each have a donut before we get home. It is our secret as my wife would not be too impressed
