Dr. Suess and Favorite Books

Blog Prompt: Winnie-the-Pooh, by A. A. Milne, is published in 1926.What is your favorite children’s book?

I loved Dr. Seuss books so much when I was a little girl. The Cat and the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham were my favorites. I always tried to imagine eating green eggs and ham!! YUK!!

I read a lot of Dr. Seuss books to my son because they made him laugh. But, my favorite one to read to him was Goodnight Moon. Always the best book to read before he went to sleep. He was also one of those kids that you couldn’t skip a page. He would let you know about that for sure.

And speaking of books ladies, how many of you are hooked on the Twilight books?  I have just fell in love with the first book, Twilight.  I am starting the second one and can’t wait to see what happens next.

When I heard it had young characters, I was a bit skeptical.  But, then the word, vampire was in the description and I had to read it.  Now I can’t stop and the movie is due out at the end of the year.  I can’t wait to see it.

Want a fun book to read, try the Twilight series.  These are quickly becoming my favs.  What is your fav book?

  1. I don’t really have a favorite book now. As a kid, I loved Dr. Seuss’ The Foot Book. I had it memorized and thought I could read before I went to Kindergarten LOL.

I’m watching your layouts and they are fantastic, wonderful blog too.

  4. I blogged about the Twilight series a few days ago, too. LOVED it! I bought it and the next day noticed it was in my son’s 7th- grade book order! I, thought, uh-oh maybe this isn’t for me… then I read all 4 books within 2 weeks! Sad, they ended.

  6. Goodnight Moon is one of my favorites to read out loud. Wonderful rhythm and soothing words for bedtime. And I tried to check out Twilight from the library but it’s a huge wait list!!

  7. Hi Tammy :)
Just browsing through Retrodiva and found your blog link, and found this entry, so I just had to comment on how much I LOVE the Twilight series.
I too was a bit dubious at first when I read it was about a school girl and falling in love with a vampire hehe but I kept reading and I was quickly hooked. I actually went out and “bought” the whole series and the last one Breaking Dawn I got it within the first 2 days after it was released lol. I’m going to see the movie for sure, I hope there will be more movies to follow on the rest of the series. Anyways just saying hi ~~~
