The sun is shinning and its warm here today in Central Florida and its been raining almost everyday. Which is a very good thing in an area needing water desperately.
I am looking at my latest find of a Black Swallowtail cocoon and a few of the caterpillars eating away at the parsley I planted for them. All the flowers are in full bloom and the butterflies are floating around, trying to figure out which flower to go to next. There are zinnias, brown eyed susans, marigolds, salvia, yarrow, chives, parsley, dill, wild columbine, butterfly bushes, coreopsis, coneflowers, lantana, sedum and pentas.
A few birds show up now and again to partake in a little bird seed I leave for them. The hummingbirds though, haven’t found their way to the feeder yet.
I love my butterfly garden.

It sounds beautiful! I have never seen a butterfly cocoon, just butterflies but I hope someday to see one in my gardens. I have 2 butterfly bushes and they cover them so there has to be cocoons somewhere! My parents live in southern FL and complain about the drought and how everything looks dead. Luckily we haven’t had that problem in SC.
Beautifully written…I can just feel it, smell it..everything! Oh and congrats on the CT and that last layout was spectacular!!
Beautiful. It feels like I am there. My son’s class this year had butterfly cocoons. I have never seen a butterfly emerge from a cocoon. I bet it is something.
Sounds like a little piece of heaven Tammy
Sounds heavenly. If we ever get something done with our backyard, I would love to put in a butterfly garden. Can’t go to the extremes my mother did as I don’t have a large yard, but something the kids would enjoy would be nice.
