Favorite Cartoons and Crock Pot Lasagna
Daffy Duck made his debut on this date in 1937. Who is your favorite cartoon character?
I was a child of the 60′s, so all those older guys I loved and faithfully watched every Saturday. Micky and Minnie, Tom and Jerry, Tweety Bird, Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Popeye and Olive Oil, Mighty Mouse and many more.
Here is a little video showing all those great cartoons of the 60′s

Now to food!!!! *LOL*
I will try any new recipe that isn’t too involved. So, I use my crock pot when ever I can.
Yesterday, I tried a lasagna recipe in my crock pot and it was great. Started it about noon and it was ready at 6!! Add a salad and garlic bread and your done. The noodles were over cooked and it was perfect. Here’s the recipe:
Crock Pot Lasagna
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup of diced onion
1/2 cup of diced green pepper
12 oz. tomato paste
2 t. dried basil
2 t. dried parsley
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/4 t. crushed red pepper
1/8 t. black pepper
3 t. salt
8 oz. lasagna noodles
6 oz. graded mozzarella cheese
1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Saute beef and veggies in a skillet till done. Add the tomato paste, water and seasonings and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir often.
Layer the ingredients as follows: sauce, (go easy on the sauce until you reach the last layer); then noodles (break them up to fill in where necessary, you won’t notice it when cooked); mozzarella cheese; sauce; noodles; ricotta cheese; sauce; noodles; sauce (using whatever sauce is left – you should have enough to cover this layer); grated Parmesan cheese.
Set the cooker on LOW and cook for 6 hours. Remove cover and let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
Its not real juicy and mine cut and came out really nice. Also, depending on what kind of crock pot you have, you might have to use more noodles broken up.
Let me know your favorite crock pot recipe!!
