Favorite Halloween Costume
Posted on October 31st, 2008 by Tammy
Blog Prompt: What is your favorite Halloween costume? It can be one that you have seen or one that you have worn.
When my brother and I were younger, my mom made us Indian outfits. I loved that outfit and I wish I had a picture of it. But, we do have movies of us wearing them. I remember they were made of really soft brown material and there was fringe! It was so cool for a costume and my mom was good about making our stuff for Halloween. I don’t even know if they had store bought costumes back in the 60′s.

Here is another great kit by Julie Marie Designs called Country Pumpkin and you can find it here.

Oooh… I like your layout! Great colors! Ummm…. my favorite costume (that I have worn) was probably when I was a little girl. I have two sisters… and all three of us were ladybugs. My mom was a flower… and my dad was a bug exterminator!!! LOL! The pics from that Halloween always make me laugh! Well… have a Happy Halloween!
LOL, Beth. Love the family costumes.
Not sure what my favorite was? I’ll go with one I made for my son when he was 3. I was a single mom with no money. So I thought I would make him a costume instead of buying. I took strips of felt & hot glued them to an old sheet I cut out (like a ghost). It wound up costing more than buying one, but it was definitely uniques….and heavy! But it was super cold that year and my little guy stayed toasty warm. (more than I can say for me).

I went as a trash can in the 6th grade and won best costume in the elementary school. That was my absolute fave. One year (as an adult) I went as a tube of Crest toothpaste and that was fun too. My boyfriend was the toothbrush.
wow gorgeous layout tammy..its great running into you ..take care..flora
If they had store bought costumes back then, I never saw them. It was unheard of to buy one back then. That just meant you were too lazy to be creative!
Great layout. Back in college, I dressed up as the devil once, wearing a black leotard and making my horns out of tin foil and my barbed tail out of felt. It was a popular costume with all the boys, so I loved it, too. LOL
