Foolish Moment

Blog Prompt: What do you think is the most foolish thing you’ve done in your life?
Like everyone else, I have had some foolish moments, but I guess the one that makes me think the hardest is this one.
When I was in High School, a friend and I were in my VW driving down the highway at night, when my tire went flat. Well, whats a couple of girls to do. We stood on the side of the road and along came a man that offered us a ride home. We got into his back seat and he took us right to my front door!
Of course, this was back in the 70′s and I did live in a very small farming community, but we didn’t know that man at all. We didn’t give a second thought about what we had done either. I am very thankful that we are both still here today.
I had a similar occurrence only my friend & I had been walking and it was on a AF base. Still I get stomach cramps thinking about one of my kids or grands doing something like that.
Aren’t we all young and stupid at one time? Luckily most of us still survive it!!
Isn’t it weird how at the time when you are living it and doing it it doesn’t seem that scary. Then when you look back you go “What was I thinking”. lol! I am glad he was a nice man and took you home.
Hubby and I was in a situation like that on the Blue Ridge Parkway. When the guy dropped us off (we saw a gun under his seat from the backseat), the people at the gas station were amazed we got in the car with him. He was under investigation for serial murders. I never did hear anything about it so I hope it wasn’t the right guy.
