Grandfather Clocks

The other day, I was out in my garage and I looked up to see what time it was, and the clock was broken. I didn’t realize how much I depend on clocks until one isn’t around. They are every where in my home!!

The only type of clock I don’t have in my home is a grandfather clock. What a majestic piece of equipment to have in your home. The sound of the chime, the look of the tall clock in the room and how well it blends in with your home decor and will never go out of style. I just love watching the pendulum’s move and you can always depend on them to let you know when the new hour had arrived. An item that you can pass on from generation to generation.

Do you like grandfather clocks? Have you ever wanted a special one? Grandfather Clocks Blog is a great place to browse for grandfather clocks and read about the features of the clocks, retailers, and the different styles of clocks to choose from. They discuss all the respected grandfather clock manufacturer’s and what a new clock can do for you.

I also learned that there are grandfather and grandmother clocks and the grandfather clock was introduced in the late 1600′s. I never knew that and what an interesting post that was to read. They also have a wonderful store to browse through.

Please stop by and read about grandfathers clocks today.

  1. I hate not having a working clock. I can see 3 different clock from my computer. Need to fix the time on some of them since they are all differnet.

  2. I LOVE clocks, and especially grandfather clocks. My grandparents had one and so does my dad, thought somehow, I can’t imagine one here in my house – maybe too old-fashioned for me at this stage of my life? I’m not sure. I also love cuckoo clocks — my other grandparents have one of those and I am hoping that my grandmother will leave it to me someday so that I can pass it on to my kids. We also have a Korean clock, since my DD was adopted from Korea. So, I’m a clock fan too!

  3. I had always thought I wanted a grandfather clock – we had a big antique Regulator when I was small – until the ice storm when we had to sleep on the floor of a living room right next to a Grandfather clock. I tell you what, that danged thing woke me up every 15 minutes with it’s chimes!!!
Now I know if I had one, it would have to be someplace VERY far from my bedroom! LOL!!

  4. I’m always glancing up at my microwave to check the time and it died 3 weeks ago and I keep looking up for the absent time. My great grandmother had a grandmother clock and I loved to watch the pendulum swing. Absolutely fascinating. Thanks for the links!

  5. My grandparents use to have a grandfather clock and I can still remember loving the sound of that clock bonging in the miiddle of the night!

  6. My in laws had one and I loved it when I saw it. After we bought this old house, my mother in law gave us the clock for our house and it still is one of our prized possessions!
