Halloween Costumes

Post a picture or describe your favorite Halloween costume.
I personally don’t have any pictures of myself in any costumes, but I do remember them. The classic bunny rabbit, indian, etc. I remember my brother and I dressed up as cats one year. My mom usually dressed us alike.
Now my son loved Halloween and I tried to make his costumes, when possible. My favorite was the year he was Bert from Ernie and Bert. It was such a cute costume and wasn’t that hard to make.
We would trick or treat around the neighborhood and when he got older, we would sit outside and give treats out to the younger kits. Then as he aged more, it became tradition to always watch the movie Halloween every year. A tradition I still do!

What a cute Bert! WOw, awesome job, I’m impressed with your sewing chops! My mom used to make my costumes, she was talented that way. Sadly, I am not, so my kids get stuff from the store. *sigh*

As kids we never did more than an old white sheet for a ghost. Pics of my kids this year on my blog. Great costume.
Awesome Bert costume. My mom use to make all of ours and my children’s. Even though I know how to sew, I could not come close to what you did.
Can any of you help with tips on how to make a Bert and Ernie costumes? While I have made quite a few costumes for my kids. I am strickly a “by the pattern” person. I have no real sewing talent. Now my kids want to do a skating number to Rubber Duckie with one being Bert, one Ernie and one the rubber duckie. I need costumes and I can see it isn’t going to be easy to find. Any helpful suggestions?
