It Changed My Life
Blog Prompt: Of the major events that have happened in your lifetime, what do you feel has had the most impact on you and how?
It was yesterday!!
My husband and I were helping a neighbor out by changing out the coach lights on her house. Always been an easy job in the past. Take off the old like, connect the wires, screw on the new light with existing screws. We’ve done it a thousand times in the past with all the houses we have worked on.
But no. Not this time. Who ever put on the lights before didn’t have a universal plate and for some reason, my husband was not figuring out the problem. After about an hour of trying to figure out what to do, I suggested that he take down the cap and put the new one flush on the wall. The screws were already there and should fit. He was adamant about it not working. So, he struggled and got the first one up on the wall.
We moved on to the next one and the neighbor came out and she chimed in and suggested the same procedure I did. Again, he gave us the look and went on to only have more trouble with the next light. He had the neighbor go to Home Depot for some supplies and we moved to another light, as I put on the new door bell hardware.
The longer we were working, I noticed he wasn’t having any trouble putting up that light and when I got done, I looked up at the wall and to my amazement……….HE PUT IT UP THE WAY WE (US GIRLS) SUGGESTED!!!!!!!! I think my eyeballs popped out of their sockets as I looked at him.
He hung his head and said,”You have no idea how bad this is going to hurt, but……..you were right!”
Then he had to tell the neighbor that she was right too. It was bad enough to tell me, but to tell 2 females in one day that we were right. 
I wish I had a tape recorder for that statement. It will be a day I will never forget and of course, I will have to use that now and again when my man thinks his way is the only way it will work.
Life is good, if you wait long enough.

ROFL It can’t have been easy for him to admit. It reminds me of a customer I once had. He came into the store, very upset and very loud he told me he wanted his money back for something he had bought there because it didn’t work. I turned over the package, took one look at the instructions and got it to work in my first try. He was so embarresed but the look on his face made my day LOL
It needs to be marked on a calendar somewhere! Whenever I’m right, for some reason, my hubby forgets about those times later on. I bet he did it your way planning on “proving” to y’all that you were wrong! LOL Great story!
