Jack and the Beanstalk and Our Georgia Trip
Blog Prompt: On May 14, 1991, the World’s Largest Burrito was created at 1,126 lbs. Describe the largest thing you have ever made.
It’s funny that this prompt came up today. Right now, as I type this, the largest tomato plant I have ever grown is in my back yard. Not the tomatoes, just the plant.
Where my husband and I live, we only have about 10 feet for a back yard. Most of the 10 feet is my butterfly garden and I have one of those large whiskey barrels that I have put flowers in before. This year, we thought we would put one tomato plant in it and see if we get a few of those delicious vegetables for the summer time.
I have grown a few tomato plants in my life time, but I have never seen one get this big! And its growing in a container on top of that! I’ve only feed it one time with Miracle Grow and I have babied it a bit, but not to cause Jack’s Beanstalk to grow in my backyard!! There are quite a few fruits on the vine, so we might be getting more than just a few tomatoes out of this plant.
When the fruit starts turning red, I will take a picture just to show you what kind of plant it has become.

My husband and I are leaving tomorrow for Georgia to take care of a few things.
- 1 pre-kindergarten graduation
- 1 Kindergarten graduation
- 1 ballet recital
- see the new baby, which makes #8
- Attend the new babies dedication service at church
- Get new family pictures made of my husband, his children and grandchildren
- Visit my husbands mother
- Visit with both of my husband’s children
- Stay at both of their homes, divided equally of course
- Travel to the Georgia Mountains to visit a good friend of my husband and his wife
- Take a quick tour of the mountains. (I’ve never been there before)
- Come back to where we use to live in Georgia to take check on our rental property.
- Come home after a whirl wind week long trip
Think we can get all that done in a week?? Oh, and all the grandchildren are under the age of 7 and will all be together at one point! But you know what, all those children are so well behaved when they are together. Yes, they are a bit loud, but what children aren’t? I can’t wait to get all those hugs and kisses from all of them and I hope to come back with tons of pictures.
So, I will be back to blogging after Memorial Day and I hope everyone has a great and relaxing holiday and I will see you when I get back.

Aw! You have a fun week in Georgia! You’re gonna be busy, but you’ll love it!
Have a great day Tammy!
enjoy your trip – can’t wait to see photos!
I envy you … I would love a tomato plant, but unfortunately, I can’t grow anything – absolute BLACK thumb. Have a wonderful time in Georgia!
Just imagine how much salsa or spaghetti sauce you could make with all of the tomatos you’ll have!
That’s a lot of stuff packed into one week. Sounds like you’ll have a great time! Have a great, safe trip!
Wow, sounds like a whirlwind of a trip! And um.. it’s almost time for Memorial Day? What’s up with THAT?!
I wonder what that tomato plant will look like when you get home. I’m picturing that play “Little Shop of Horrors!” Hope you have a wonderful trip.
