My Favorite Homemade Bread
Blog Prompt – Today is Homemade Bread Day. Do you have a great recipe for bread to share or do you prefer to buy it already made at the store?
I love homemade bread and my favorite is my mom’s Banana Nut Bread. The best time to eat it is right out of the oven with a little bit of butter on it. YUMMY!!
Banana Nut Bread
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons soda
4 cups flour
6 large bananas, very ripe, mashed
1 cup finely chopped pecans
Preparation:
Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture. Stir in bananas and chopped pecans.
Pour banana nut bread batter into 2 well-greased loaf pans; bake at 325° for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. This banana nut bread recipe makes 2 loaves.
This recipe makes 2 loaves and is great to keep one and pass another one on for a gift. Great at Christmas time. ![]()

Thanks for sharing the recipe. I will try that at home.Carry On~! Bye.
That looks yummy. I will have to try that recipe thanks for sharing it. I made some fresh pumpkin bread a few weeks ago that was awesome. Hubby likes to make bread in the bread machine but he is still perfecting his recipe. He is always looking for a good bread recipe.
I forgot about my Banana Nut Bread! I love making that but for some reason, I don’t see it as really bread. We eat it more like cake. We love walnuts so I put them in instead of the pecans. Yummm! Now you have me wanting to make it!
