Blog Prompt: What lost passions would you like to rediscover?
I would love to start painting again with oils and water colors. I use to do this a lot when I was in school and have had some paintings shown in area art shows. When my husband and I were dating and the first time he was at my parents house, he noticed my pictures my mom displayed. He asked me why I quit painting and I didn’t have any excuse. Life, I’m sure, got in the way after high school.
So, on our wedding day, he gave me a brand new set of oils and wanted me to start back up. Well, those oils are still in the box and in my craft closet. There are a lot of painting classes given in the area and maybe, someday I will take one them. I need too before that old age takes over my hands.
Something else I would love to rediscover is being a young mother again. I sure do miss all those wonderful times when my son was a baby.
I hope someday you start painting again. Maybe you could check into the cuddlers program at a local hospital for newborns. I know some hospitals are always looking for volunteers to rock babies. I felt that way once and taught Sunday School to first graders for about 5 years. I got over that feeling by then.
