Retirement and a Great Movie
Blog Prompt: Today is Punch the Clock Day. Describe the best day you have had this month.
Everyday is my “best day” when you are retired and don’t have to punch that clock anymore. Don’t have to hear that alarm in the morning, sit around and drink coffee, read the paper and watch the birds and butterflies in my back yard. During the day I can take a nap, watch a movie or take a nice bike ride.
Until March I am helping with the community play as the stage manager and that is keeping me busy right now. I am truely enjoying this. Even though it is way out of my comfort zone. My neighbor is the director and asked me if I would help her. So far, its a lot of fun and the play is very funny. Its called the Cemetery Club and is about 3 widows who visit their dead husbands at the cemetery every month until a new man comes walking into their lives. This play is perfect for a retirement community and so many can relate to the story. I hope to have pictures to show everyone as we get to the dress rehersal part. I will have to scrap this adventure for sure.
I do miss working with all the people in the job force though. You make friends and enjoy their company everyday.
But, if I had to choose the work force or retirement. Retirement would win every single time.
Now for my own movie critique.
The other day I watched P.S. I Love You. I just loved this movie and it makes a great date or girl movie to watch. The story always kept me focus and I love a movie that makes me cry and laugh at the same time.
P.S. I Love You is about a young girl who recently lost her husband and has a hard time dealing with it. Her friends are helping but then on her 30th birthday she receives a birthday cake that no one ordered and a tape of her husband telling her what to do on her birthday.
I will stop there because I don’t want to give anything away. I give this movie a deffinant 4 stars for sure and you can find this movie easily on DVD.

I like to paint pottery, and so far this month I’ve painted alot, but the best days are when I get my pieces out if the kiln and am amazed at how fabulous they turned out! I really need to start posting pictures of my work.
The play sounds like alot of fun! Can’t wait to see pics!
I haven’t seen that movie yet but after reading your review I think I’m going to go and rent it.
Thanks for visting my blog! Have a Great Day!
I can’t wait to retire, is that bad? I have 30 years to go! LOL.
I liked PS I Love You, but didn’t love it. I guess I don’t prefer bittersweet endings.
happy retirement tammy..sounds like you are enjoying it:0) I havent seen the movie and will have to pick it up…thanks
This film seems to be very interesting
I need to see it
I’m with you on the retirement gig! I love it! I was once an asst. stage manager and I worked my butt off! I loved it but it was hard and exhausting work. Hope the play is a success! (By the way, are you ready to take control on Monday? I’ll put up the weekend thread since it is the end/beg of the month)
