What to Bake
Blog Prompt: This month is Bake for the Family Month. What is your favorite thing to bake? If you don’t bake, what is your favorite baked thing to eat.
I am the worse at baking cookies, so I don’t do that very often. But, I do have this chocolate cake recipe from scratch to DIE FOR!!!!!!!! It takes awhile to do it, its 3 layers tall and the icing is sssssoooooo good. I also have this Strawberry Cake that I like to bake that is just as good and you have to use fresh strawberries.
My husbands fav thing for me to make, but its not baked, it the Better Than Sex Cake or Robert Redford Cake. I think the titles will tell you how good that cake is. It’s really not a cake, because you only bake the crust. It’s made with pudding, cream cheese and cool whip. Really good for summertime.
Robert Redford Cake
1 c. flour
1 stick butter
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
1 lg. (16 oz.) Cool Whip
1 lg. pkg. instant vanilla pudding
1 lg. pkg. instant chocolate pudding
3 c. milk
Combine flour, butter and nuts. Press into bottom of ungreased 13×9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 or 20 minutes; cool.
Blend cream cheese, sugar and 1/2 carton Cool Whip. Spread over cooled crust.
Combine pudding and milk. Whip until well blended. Pour over cream cheese layer. Spread remainder of Cool Whip over pudding layer. Grate chocolate over top (if desired). Refrigerate.
